Very easy class, just watch the videos and work along with them and you will be fine. Homework is optional but I did not do it and still passed... Exams are a bit lengthy though.

Comment:

Weekly checkpoints can get annoying/time consuming. Watch the weekly videos and do practice homework to prep for exams. Good professor with fair grading and clear explanations. More conceptual than Calc II, get ready for word problems. Study main concepts for quizzes. Keep up with homework and concepts, everything builds off each other.

Took her for DE. Easy A if you're willing to go over her lectures and practice some homework problems. Final replaces one of the lowest from the 3 tests. Easy quizzes and airplane project at the end of the semester which you don't have to do if you complete all the quizzes.

GREAT TEACHER, took her for stats as well. Gives you everything you need to know. exceptional feedback, can be reached easily, gives hw every class but not too much to overwhelm you. HW is necessary, participation is necessary, lots of extra credit opportunities. good for visual/hands on learning, have groups. it was great

Took her online class lets just say I would never take a online math class ever. Her calc 3 test were a lot of word problems. I ended up dropping by the second exam. I didnt find the test were based on the homework we did. Her video really were Blah. If you were going to take an online math class take Professor Niraj Wagh. Lets just say Awesome!

Format is similar to a flipped class. Most of what she teaches is word problems, which are hard initially but overall better in the long run. Fair amount of extra credit for each unit. Homework is optional but should be done to better understand material/way she has you do problems. Overall enjoyed it but can see how some may not like it.

Going through this class was so simple and I am so happy I was able to take the course with her. The 3 tests and the final count for 80% of the final grade so make sure you study well. Overall the exams were easy and I highly advise you guys to take advantage of the extra credit.

Comment:

Took Jody DeVoe for Spring 2018 Online Differential Equations. The fear of this course almost caused me to change my major because I was not naturally gifted at math. Jody's lectures were completely recorded online which meant you could "go back to class" anytime you wanted. I earned a solid B in DifEQ because Jody made it easy and fun to learn!

She is very devoted to her work and willing to help you if you struggle. Different methods of teaching, such as implementing lots of group work which I believe are very beneficial. Beware* The quizzes and tests have a lot of weight so do not take those lightly. HW is optional but strongly recommended as well. Lots of Extra credit.

Exams are 80% of the total grade, 20% for quizzes and "lesson checkpoints" (also quizzes). I felt confident until getting a 47% on the final. She told us to look at everything we ever did in the semester to prepare for the final, which is ridiculous to say with no suggested format. The final was set up completely differently than any other test.

Amazing professor. De Voe does her best to keep her pass rates high - she assigns the class into groups, which makes learning the material a lot easier. Tests are just like the reviews. Visit her office hours! She's very friendly, funny, ridiculously smart, and always willing to help. Does the absolute most to help every single student pass.

The professor know the material and gives you all the information you need for the course. If you study her notes, and do her homework you will be set for the exam. The checkpoints are a pain because they are only 5 points. Tough grader but she gives good feedback for you to understand where and why you were wrong. Quick answering emails.

Professor DeVoe's lecture material is easy to navigate and provides enough insight to do well on the quizzes and exams; homework is supplemental. If you already have a heavy course load, then I would recommend this class as you can finish the weekly assignments in a couple hours.

Professor DeVoe is one of the best math professor at Valencia. She is willing to answer any questions students have. Her handouts are an amazing combination of instruction and notes. She gives extra credit for answering other students' questions on homework, and cookies are available on test day. Part of test days are also review and Q&A.

Compared to how UCF professors teach this class, going through this Calc 3 online class was a breeze. I did all the quizzes, lesson checkpoints, tests, homework (not graded/optional), and passed with flying colors. She is wonderful at explaining math in a simple way and I love her online lectures. One of the best!

Great class. Attendance isn't mandatory; however, you won't get all of the information you need if you don't show up. Plus, there are extra points for showing up everyday (or only missing one class). We work in groups every day to go over the homework, choose wisely. Doing the homework is extremely important even if it seems like a lot of work.

I took professor Devoe for calc 1 during Spring semester and she was amazing, she completely created a new form of lecturing that makes the class fun. You work in groups reading through the material while she explains it as well. She assigns a lot of HW but it all reinforces what you're learning, tests and quizzes accurately reflect what you study

Best professor. I've had C's since calc 2 but I'm currently taking D.E online and I have a good chance of getting an A. Easy A if you stay on top of your game. I took this class in the summer in a period of 5 weeks and it wasn't that bad. Explains well and course is well structured.

Comment:

Trig was more difficult than this class. Same setup as her Calc3 class except there are no weekly check points and there is a fun airplane project that has the solutions available online. She still drops the two lowest quiz grades and the final exam grade can replace your lowest exam score. DeVoe could teach DE's to a monkey.
