I found I had to teach myself most of the material in Joe's class. He has good notes, but is very difficult to follow and hard to understand. He gives lots of assignments from the textbook on Wiley which aren't too difficult and his midterms were pretty fair but he marks the cases really hard! He's a nice guy but hard to learn from.

UNB needs more professors like Joe. He engages students with the material in every class, makes an effort to remember your name, and is a very generous marker. He is a total gem, and a very kind man. Take accounting with him if you have the option!

Comment:

Joe always smiling. While his accent is thick, you can still easily understand what he says. Goes over lots of questions in class, which is helpful for midterms and finals. He sometimes assume you understand a concept that just went through, but if you don't, don't be afraid to see him after class. The class overall is tough, but is fair.

Joe is one of akind. You will find he says things like "lets assume and isnt it?" all the time and his accent kills me when he does it. (in a good way)He assigns a lot of homework and keep up with it! Its a hard course but if you stay on track you will be fine. Avoid telling him your name for aslong as possible, he asks lots of questions in class.

Joe was fantastic when I had him as a prof 8+ years ago - I suspect he is just as good now. Takes an interest in students, door is always open for after class help, not sure if he ever had a bad day in his life given his perpetual smile.

Joe is an awesome prof! He genuinely cares about his students and about accounting. He calls on all students frequently to make sure you understand. He will help you when you need assistance, often by asking thought provoking questions. I would gladly take all of my accounting classes from him. With him you will be prepared for the final exam!

Joe is an hard prof with high expectations. If you're looking for a painless introduction to accounting, go to STU ... Joe will push you like a drill sergeant and when he's done you'll thank him for every disappointed gaze. He gives a lot of homework, a lot of tests, quizzes and assignments but in the end you'll learn more than you thought possible

Awesome guy, easily approachable, memory's not the best (i.e., w/ names), but he tries. Works through plenty of related examples fr text and supplies ans key on Bb (except for assign probs, but this is expected). No reason for not getting an A or B. Grades (I think) are scaled. Course is heavily weighted toward beginning. Get rdy for cases.

Halfway through the term he drops individual asgts. but then group asgts. get harder and lengthier. He does ask people questions in class, and if he thinks you do not understand, he'll keep coming back to you. You can tell that he does this because he wants people to understand though. If you are having trouble with something he'll help you with it after class. Going to class definitely helps! I'm going to pick him for Intermediate Accounting.

Joe was a really good prof. He honestly cared, and involved everyone in the class. He makes sure to ask everyone questions, which can really be bad if you dont know your stuff. He can be a little unclear sometimes, but does know his stuff. But I liked his approaches and overall I really like Joe and would take him again.
