Professor Engbers is the kindest person. He is SO passionate and knowledgable about his subject; it makes you want to learn all the more! He was super understanding that some were taking this class as a core class. He genuinely wants his students to succeed. He is also quite funny.

I ADORE Professor Engbers. He is the nicest, funniest man. One of my favorite Profs I've had. Loves his students and teaching English. I took him for Brit lit and was nervous for the class but he was totally understanding of its difficulty and made it so students could succeed. Just attend class so you know the themes he wants you to know on tests.

Took him for Russian Lit. Good Prof. TONS of reading. Comparatively easy tests. However, his grading is not fair. A friend and I wrote almost the exact same answer and got a drastic difference in points obtained. Appeals for more points don't go well too. I wouldn't recommend this class unless you are an English major or a Russian!

The love poem class was amazing. Really accessible for non literature majors. Really enjoyed hoods teaching style and the subject matter! No textbook, just novels. I did an honors contract as well, very enjoyable! Professor Engbers is great!

Prof. Engbers is very kind. He is a great lecturer and a great person. The content he covers in ENGL101 isn't relevant to any other class you will take as a non-English major. If you're looking for an average-difficult ENGL101 with a friendly prof, sign up. If you're looking to learn something useful for later on, choose a different section.

Dr. Engbers is a great prof overall. He is funny, knowledgeable easy to reach, and just an overall genuine man. His grading can be unclear at times, but he does provide good feedback. His tests can seem unexpected, but he is fa overall. Study well, participate in class, and you then you should be all set.

Great prof for a kind of sucky and boring class that everyone has to take. Not too tough but doesn't just pass students.

Engbers is great, I had him at 8 in the morning and had no trouble staying engaged. There is no grammar, and all the writing advice is pertinant to papers in other classes. Learned a lot, and didn't have an overload of work to do.

Engbers is one of a kind! He's just great. I hate English but I didn't mind this class at all! He genuinely cares about the students too! During midterms week (we didn't have one for this class) he gave us no homework because he knew we were busy with other classes! I didn't even have that in high school!

Great Prof! He is very intentional in his teaching techniques and truly cares about conveying information in the clearest way possible. He has a great sense of humor and values what every student has to say. Read the readings, review your notes, and look for big picture concepts, and you will do well on the tests. Highly recommended.

He is a really nice guy and will help you if you come to him but the class and the testing are very different worlds. Class is a very relaxed time, he leads discussion well but his tests do not reflect class time (focus on quotes). Grade is based on midterm, final, one short paper and then some participation, drop it if the midterm is bad for you.

I took this class because I knew how good he was from ENG 101. Very clear, and makes the most boring information interesting. He is a fair grader, but that doesn't mean he's easy!
