You could tell he liked what he was teaching and teaching in general. Playing music as students walk into the lecture hall, getting students involved by asking "raise your hand if" questions. Basically everything he says in lecture are typed out on his slides that are posted onlinebut he does do a lot of drawing of cells. Bring coloured pens.

Dr. Colassanti is an enthusiastic speaker with a good sense of humour. He makes class enjoyable. His slides could use some more organization at times and perhaps more explanation regarding diagrams, but he knows what he's talking about and is able to answer any questions students have.

Be prepared to hand draw most of your notes with this prof. Notes were very disorganized, jumped from one topic to another without explanation of how it relates to the bigger general idea. Had no idea what he was talking about half the time.

colasanti is very scatterbrained... you can tell he loves what he's teaching and he's passionate about it but he's not passionate when it comes to teaching it. he goes back and forth between topics that he's teaching and it's hard to follow along... he explains things as if everyone already understands/knows the subject already...

I spoke with him as I was going to miss the midterm. He originally said no redo date, but then made a date during the days I told him I was away for. I ended up having a 70% final which was avoidable & stressful. I even asked if grades could be reweighted elsewhere - nope. My other bio prof let me (only) write it when I got back with no problems.

Had for 1090, definitely a very helpful prof. His lecture slides are crystal clear and was always willing to help interested students. Midterm and final were nearly identical to the mocks that went out.

Awesome prof, makes the course easy to understand, and he is really easy to listen to. I like how he starts off class with music, it makes 8:30 am classes easier to wake up to!

He was a good prof, but a little boring! He didnt make the class that interesting it was always just pure biology he talked about, which I get is what he was supposed to do but it got super boring. It was difficult to study for the exam because in class he would make side notes based on the slides so you had to follow along to make additional notes

Great professor. Very, very helpful. Taking this class as a second year student was really really easy because of the way he explains things. Makes it very easy to understand. The labs require work, and as long as you put the work in you'll do really well. Extremely interesting. Overall hands down the BEST prof I've had so far in the sciences.

Great proff. Slides were easy to understand and follow along. There was no textbook and the quizzes really help you for the exam. Very enthusiastic and funny. I enjoyed going to his classes (which is really important. If you miss a class you're screwed. ) As long as you stay on top of your work, you will do great.

Great Prof that cares about his students. Can get annoyed if you don't keep on top of your stuff. Well structured course. Good notes, but class is highly recommend. Likes to teach uniquely, tells a story about each topic starting with it's discovery. Experimentally based teaching from literature.

it's like the guy had no idea what he was talking about. he'd repeat the same thing in one class about 10 times. wasn't the slightest bit prepared. tried to invent a new type of humour - it didn't work. i could've taught the class better than him. please don't go to his lectures-> the textbook and lecture notes are ample learning devices.

Nice set of notes, had troubles with the warmem equipment, would waste 1/2 the lecture time trying to fix things, then compensate with chicken scratch on overheads, seems very serious, but overall not a bad learning experience... what's up with throwing the mike across the stage and the swearing?

interesting presentation style of course material, although sometimes repetitive, but that just means theres less work, which is good. He can get annoyed, so dont fall on his bad side.
