Do not take Joe Rice for any English classes. I should have dropped the class after the first couple of weeks. He expected us to read over 60 pages a night and then quizzed on only a few. He may help you but do not expect a good grade. Hated the class, but I love everything related to English.

I took this as a summer class and it was hard. (3 major papers in 5 weeks along with daily writings) If you have problems, just go see him. He is more than willing to work with you and help guide you. Joe is not for somebody that thinks they will pass by showing up, you have to do the work! some here have rated him bad but I thought he was OK!

Do not take this man for any classes. He is TOO difficult. There is too much reading and too many papers. He is too demanding of his students and acts as if the world revolves around his class. I took him for a summer class and wasn't able to drop it, so instead I took an F just to not have him anymore and just retook the class with someone else.

I could not stand him! Don't expect to get anything higher than a B in his class. Sure you can conference with him, but it does not help at all. He requires too much work for comp 1. It was really rediculous! Avoid him if you can. Don't expect to get any papers back. I don't know what I got on 3.
