ETSU is losing one of THE most brilliant minds of all time. He is funny, helpful, and fair. The tests are a breeze and I never miss a class of his. I love his experiments and his "bloody lectures"!

True gem for ETSU. Dr. Shanks really cares about students and the subjects he teaches. Just make sure you write your papers to at least his minimum length requirements or you will eventually pay with your grade. A super guy and professor. Take any class he teaches.

Definitely the funniest professor I have ever had! He's a great lecturer and is always very clear with what he is talking about. He is also very knowledgeable and is willing to help you when you need it. Tests are extremely fair. Pretty much, they're a test of how often you come to class.

This was the best teacher I had prb. ever had! Dr. Shanks is HILARIOUS!!! He took a boring class and made it worth coming to! All tests are open note and somewhat easy if you attend reg. and take good notes. You never know waht to expect in his class!
