Professor Siry is one of the best professors I have ever met at Wesleyan. His class is always interesting and clear. He is very knowledgable and modest. He is very accessible outside class and he offered great help when I had trouble on my research project. The workload is just the right amount. I would encourage people to take his class.

Professor Siry knows everything about architecture. He is crazy knowledgable. If this is a subject you love, you'll love him. He is super smart, accessible outside of class, and if you can stay focused in his lectures, they're great. He grades HARD though. Papers and exams are v difficult to get an A on. Not what I expected from a 100 level class.

Prof. Siry is absolutely amazing. He is incredibly well versed in architecture and is clearly very interested in what he is teaching. If you are interested in architecture at all, I would recommend taking a class with him. The readings are unnecessary; all the info for tests is given in class.

Very passionate about architecture, & is socially conscious. Knows how to paint an interesting, interdisciplinary, in-depth look at each building he teaches about. However, bad at managing time, and assigned SO MUCH reading. It wasn't necessary to do it, but it was annoying that he didn't just choose more manageable, high-quality readings.

Amazing and intelligent. Interest level can vary (get sleep the night before/before class - his voice can lull you to sleep), but is insanely knowledgeable about architecture. Very kind and approachable, and a fair grader (especially if you know how to do comparisons). Textbook can be unnecessary, but read if you didn't pay attention. Worth it.

Great Teacher! He's a quiet lecturer so sit towards the front, but what he has to say is very interesting even if Art History isn't really your thing. If you take Arha151 you don't need the textbook if you go to all the lectures.

Wonderful teacher! He is by far the smartest professor I have taken at Wesleyan. The level of attention can vary greatly between what you find interesting in each of his classes. Some classes I fell asleep within 30 minutes and others I didn't check my watch once. If you are even slightly interested Siry will make the class amazing.

I took this for my gen ed requirement and I'm so glad that I did! He is very sweet and open to talking to students, although I never took advantage of this. Nice to have a large lecture class since I didn't know much about the subject matter. Also, I found that the readings were unnecessary for this class.
