have to listen to his every thought, but when time to write a paper he will just skim thru your paper, highlightly key pts from his lectures. Is that what education is about? Repeating the prof's ideas? Univ. needs to talk to him about his neglect to the education of his students. its not about you professor, its suppose to be about the students

Westerns in an amazing class and Slotkin really carries it. I never thought I could stay interested in John Wayne and John Ford for upwards of 27 movies! Great lecturer, really funny and incredibly insightful.

one of the best professors I've ever had. literally wrote the intro to last of the mohicans penguin classics edition. amazing commentary on moby dick. KEEP NOTES! they are your best friend. ok to skip a few (<4) but get a friend. laptop very helpful he is fast.

I never thought Early Amer. Lit could be so interesting. He is an incredible lecturer. In a class of over 150 people, he managed to engage us all, and keep us laughing. He is one of the best.

Floored me. Had him 1st semester at Wes, still one of my favorites. Class was 250 people--he engaged us all. Changed the way I saw early US Lit and history, and kept me laughing the whole time. Cannot recommend him highly enough.
