Dr Kowit is a nice guy and has a good sense of humor, but I don't recommend him as a professor. He is extremely unorganized and assignments are very unclear. He doesn't follow the syllabus and often misplaces papers, even if you email them to him.

I have had a lot of horrible educators, and I can honestly say that the frustration level I've had with past teachers doesn't even compare to Kowit. He does not welcome foreign opinions, the syllabus is irrelevant. It happened to me numerous times where I handed in papers on time, and he emails me and says I didn't. So unclear all of the time.

Dr. Kowit is a pretty good teacher if you print the notes first, then write everything he says in class on them. He will scale the test if everyone does badly, but 3/4 of the tests are not that bad. Nice and funny guy, but if you don't understand what he is saying, ask during the class and he will be happy to clarify

He's my advisor and a great guy. Very level headed and a very quirky and priceless sense of humor. Class isn't too difficult. Just study the slides ver batum. Tests are reasonable & final is NOT cumulative! :)

he's a nice guy, buut his voice is so boring, that you start to doze... and everytime we ask him to use the microphone, he'll forget by the second minute. i also find that he is very unclear sometimes, he tends to drift into subjects very easily.

I Thought Kowit was a genius, and his door was always open for a bunch of us to just randomly go in and hang out with him. He may at times be a little too lenient, but it's worth taking a class with him

I totally disagree with the two first comments on Dr. Kowit.First of all the guy looks like Einstein in other words the guy is very smart. The guy went from physics in undergrad to a phd in bio.Very helpful, wants the best for his students..
