dr arehart is one of the nicest, laid-back professors i've ever had. but unfortunately, your knowledge of computers will probably exceed his, which is why they've stuck him in the lower level CS courses. he's retiring this year, though, so maybe we'll get someone a bit more exciting.

extremely boring...i couldnt go to this class...my programming background helped me thru this class cuz he doesnt really teach anything in it...he just reads off the slides...you will fall asleep in class IF you go...often gets confused and doesnt seem like he knows what hes doing...nice guy tho if you get to know him

I've been taking classes from Arehart for 4 years and I've never gotten a bad grade. He's a bit boring in class but doesn't care if you pay attention or not. Assignments are relatively easy. He's also good about postponing due dates. In fact, he ALWAYS puts off grading papers. Good professor!

There were times in this class, where I wanted to cut my wrists on the dull edges of the tables. It was that ****ing boring. When I got out of that 8:00am class, if was as if I was being liberated. He took half a class period to change the font style on his webpage viewer. Don't take his classes

Eh, he knows his stuff...in theory. Outside of class in his office he can be very helpful, and extensions are very easy to obtain. But he doesn't know the code that gets the theory implemented often...and that worries me, seeing as HE has the Ph.D.
