John does things his way and you have to play by his rules. Assigns lots of busywork. You can't research how a deal worked IRL, but he marks using the actual success. So if you say a company should not do something that actually worked, your answer is automatically wrong. Expects analysis to include things that you have no way of knowing to include

Honestly one of the best prof's I have ever had. His class will challenge you to think, and just doing the readings isn't necessarily enough, you have to understand the readings and be able to debate them. But he will help take your strategic thinking to a level well beyond what you though possible of yourself. By far, one of the best at WLU!

Wow!! Thank god I had him as a prof. He works hard, comes to class incredibly prepared and calls you out if your not ready. So beware if you show up to class unprepared, your dead and it's your own fault. You'll appreciate his approach, when you realise that you really can use what he taught you!

John is a dinosour. He is very outdated. His class is his way or the highway. He seems to be very threatened by people who challenge him. Seems like he has an ego issue or something. He also has a range grading scheme, rationing grades perhaps? Hard to believe him and Bill are brothers after having Bill for BU 607.

Fantastic MBA prof. He's the kind of prof you wait several semesters to finally get and thank god- since some of the other profs are horrid. He treats you like an adult and doesn't mince words. He'll ask the right questions for you to get to the answers. He's not easy, but fair. Way to go Banks!!

Can't exactly call him a charmer or a caring instructor. He does know some stuff, a fraction of which is relevant to managers. Has a one-way method for doing cases; its his way or the highway. Most of us became good. long distance drivers.
