Dr. Bird is a really cool guy! He's got a great sense of humor and he makes going to class fun. That being said, he expects you to do a lot of work for CRTW. There are several 10-12 page papers (which typically go over the page count) as well as some additional written assignments. He's a tough grade too! You get the chance to do revisions though.

This was the must time consuming class I gave taken at Winthrop! He treats it as a honors English class instead of CRTW! Better know how to write a perfect 10-15 page paper!

Dr. Bird is funny and a smart guy, but don't take him for CRTW unless you want to do a LOT more work than other students who choose other professors. He requires lots more work in the thinking journal but only counts it for 5% of your grade. He gets behind on the syllabus schedule, which means less time between papers and less time to work on them.

He is a wonderful professor. He has a fantastic sense of humor and everyday in class is a new adventure. He really appreciates his students and pays close attention. He made CRTW an amazing experience. If you can take him, do it. It was a wonderful experience.

I had a BIG beef with this guy at first. He is really rude at times and doesn't listen well. However, he's not a horrible guy and is VERY flexible and understanding when it comes to deadlines and such. I wouldn't reccomend him, but if you have to take him he's not completely terrible.

Dr. Bird is AWESOME!! You must buy the book because you read from it for every class meeting. The papers are demanding but he is willing to help you if you have any questions. I struggled at first, but then worked REALLY hard to end up with a B!!! (considering I'm not an Engl. major)

Dr. Bird is one of my absolute favorite profs here. He is hilarious, very fun, and memorable. He is a tough grader but is very willing to help and accepts revisions for papers with weighted averaged. I made a C- on my first paper and still got an A in the class. Highly recommended, especially for ENGL majors.

The first day of class, Dr. Bird blew bubbles and told our class "not to grow old." He is very laid back,funny and an all around great guy. He's grading is kind of harsh, but he has helped me learn SO much. I was blessed to have his class! I HIGHLY recommend him.

Dr. Bird is so FUN! I had an awesome time in his class. However, when it comes to grading, he is pretty harsh. I felt like I did a better job than he gave me credit for sometimes, but oh well. You will really enjoy this class if you choose to take it. Be sure to know how to cite things correctly.
