Mr. Burks is by far my favorite professor at Mott. History isn't my strongest subject and he makes coming to class every week easy. If you want a fun professor take him!!

He is by far my favorite teacher. He has dry humor but I think hes funny and tells pretty great stories and shows history in a different light. His stories most of the time relate to what hes teaching and if you do the review/notes its an easy A.

EXTREMELY off topic stories and 'conspiracies.' Very dry sense of humor, made fun of various students, rude. Attendance is mandatory to get a good grade, but you probably won't learn much about whats on the test because he just tells stories about his father. Told me to drop the class because of my dislike for the stories, but needed to graduate.

A very painfully awkward professor to have at 9am. Do not need the textbook, however he did force us to buy his own novel to do a book review on it for a large portion of our grade. Tests are kind of hard, especially if you miss class often. Grades papers very fair. Overall, he was a decent professor.

He's quirky and tells lots of stories but that keeps class interesting. Some people didn't like his humor, but it's better than a dry boring lecture. I would take him again. The answers for quizzes are in his notes.

Yes, he may tell stories but if you pay attention they do relate to the subjectclass lecture. Tests are a little tough but manageable if you pay attention. If you are there everyday, and you do not play on your phone you will not have any problems. Great guy. Read his book before class, or end of the semester and it may help you!

Tells way too many far fetched stories, kept pushing his sci-fi romance novel on us, I think someone bought it simply out of spite and doesn't give clear instructions. I took the class because I'm a history buff and I was even bored 90% of the class.

History isn't exactly a fun subject but he makes it fun by always tossing in his stories. They have absolutely nothing to do with the subject but they keep you entrained. Very easy and fun class

I loved this class! He was very entertaining and gives you every tool he can to help you succeed. He gave out printed lists of things to study, and most is word for word on the tests. I loved this class and I'm not a history person!

Hey, cool, I probably know the person below me. Anyway, why I don't care a lot of Mr. Burks methods, there really is no reason is to get "hurt" in class. If you're serious about history, Mr. Burks will make want to pull your hair out. The good thing is you can talk to him personally about issues. Another plus: it's an easy A unless you're an idiot.

I love Mr. Burks! He is a great teacher with a love for his profession. Yes, he does goes off topic which can get a little stressfull when you are trying to learn what is on the test. His grading style is very nice, he likes to give good grades, if you get a bad grade in his class is because you didn't show up.

Mr. Burks class hands down is a great class. If you are inspiring to be a teacher this is the class you would model your style after. People who have bad comments on Mr. Burks have little to no sense of humor and apparently don't take notes at all.

Terribly hard to follow! Notes would help except he gets so off track by his stories that everyone just gets lost. Nice guy with a funny, dry sense of humor that's appreciated, but the lack of structure makes me dread going to class. It's a shame because I really enjoy history, but he makes it hard to understand by always going off topic.
