Could not recommend him enough. He is the most interesting and inspiring professor I've had here at Fairfield. His class is not a normal management class, he ties so many real world issues with the topic and makes you actually learn the information. His format of class is the most beneficial class I've ever taken, cannot recommend him enough.

Dont understand the last few ratings. Sure its an easy grade, but horrid teacher who isnt very smart. 2 examples: 1-He told our class we were going to run out of oil in 10 years at this rate (LOL). 2-The book we read for class was The Lorax by Dr. Seuss. He's extremely far left and tries hammering his political beliefs into his naive students heads

Hilarious Teacher that knows what he is talking about. At the time it might seem ridiculous of some of the assignments you do but it all connects at the end. Easy A, no HW, all assignments/ quizzes/tests are done in class as groups. Easy A

The person 2 comments below nails it. Dude just goes on and spreads his liberal beliefs to his students. It was a struggle not just standing up and leaving the class every day. Nice guy, and easy grade, but you will not learn anything management related, and will just have to sit through yet another professor trying to express their political views

Dr. Cavanaugh has an unorthodox teaching style and his class is not for those who enjoy clear-cut structured criteria to an easy A. The guy is a genius and his class is an open creative environment that really makes you think. Great for an entrepreneurial spirit. Lots of group project so class attendance is mandatory... no homework! spots fill fast

As the class has gone on, the more and more I have grown to dislike him. We haven't learned one thing management related, while all he does is teach us about the environment and white privilege. He just tries to get his hardcore liberal beliefs into our heads to hopefully influence some of the uninformed college students. Not a hard class.

Dr. Cavanaugh is a really interesting teacher. For a Management class, I felt like I was actually learning ethics. He grades pretty tough and talks about really abstract ideas. When he assigns you something you really need to think outside of the box on how to best get it done

Interesting class but not really a normal "management" class: if this is your major I don't recommend taking. Focuses on the environment and its impact on the world. Weekly "DEN" paper are annoying but pretty easy midterm&finalgrading system is hard to figure out and is based on his opinionweekly readingsa lot of critical thinkingfunny guy

Cavanaugh should not be an instructor at Fairfield University. Although he is an extremely smart individual, you take nothing away from his class. The dens and homework he assigns are useless. It is an absolute waste of time and he randomly grades based on absolutely nothing. I had B's on almost everything and I ended up with a C.. Don't take him.

No textbook used. Weekly readings were assigned for class discussion. This is not your typical class, although it was interesting. Only a midterm and a final. Midterm was taken outside of class. Overall, this class was pretty easy. I recommend taking him but not if you are looking for a typical management class.

cavanaugh is the man! his class is not your ordinary MG class - no memorizing terms and definitions. he'll challenge you to think a complete new way. class is enjoyable he makes jokes and lets you out early from the turbo every time. easy A if you just show up to class. hands down one of the best professors in dsb. more teachers should be like him!
