Comment:

Dr. Cone is a nice person and a good professor. Most people taking this class (myself included) are probably looking for an easy liberal arts credit, and I'd say his class is pretty reasonable- the study guides he makes for the tests are very useful. Gives out hints for future tests in class, so keep an eye/ear out for that. They're never too hard.

Absolute worst class I've ever taken. Calculus is easier. Any class is easier than ART -114 with Cone. Unless you have a photographic memory I wouldn't take this class. Kids drop like flies in this class. Extremely hard even if you study. Disregard all other comments!! Don't be deceived. He's very passionate, true, but that won't save your grade.

Dr. Cone is an excellent teacher who shows a clear passion for the subject. He is always open to hearing students' thoughts on the material being presented. Be prepared to take notes, study hard, and do lots of reading if you want to pass.

This is a very good teacher and was one of my favorite classes. If you have no interest in art history I would not recommend taking this class, but if you do definitely choose this professor! You have to work for your grade, but he is very helpful.

Dr. Cone is a very good teacher. However, he does not just hand out easy A's like I thought he would. He is very strict when it comes to learning the material. I have studied for hours on end and still received a 70 on the quizzes. Preparation is mandatory to even pass the class. Good professor, but tough grader. Learn the material early!!

Definitely my favorite class and professor! Very funny and passionate about art. Do NOT take this class just for a credit/easy A, it is probably one of the more difficult courses I've taken (coming from someone who already loved art history). Dr. Cone expects everyone to show up, appreciate the subject matter, and work hard/on a university level.

Dr. Cone really knows his stuff, very passionate about art. Honestly I Just needed an another credit so I turned to art history "thinking" it would be easy, but it was extremely hard,Lots of memorization, lots of reading ,but overall you will learn a lot about art history and how important it is,taking this class really made me want to visit Italy

He is an amazing teacher and very passionate about art. Very well traveled and knows what he is talking about when it comes to art. He is funny and very sweet, but his class is tough and you will have to read if you want to pass his class. He always reviews the chapters theough and be prepared to take quizzes.

Yeah his class was hard, but you can't expect a teacher to coddle you when they have so many other things to do. He is funny and very knowledgeable about art. The first day he told us that he teaches on a grad scale. And of course to make you feel even more stupid, he says "It's just more watered down" He expects you to memorize 20 - 40 different descriptions of Artwork for each quiz. AND BE PREPARED FOR THE TESTS(YOU HAVE TO DO ESSAY RESPONSES). If you don't have photographic memory, do not take this.

Dr. Cone is probably one of the best professors I had in my time there. He is very knowledgeable about Art History and has even traveled to many places you will learn about. ID quiz at the end of each chapter, STUDY STUDY for test. Dry sense of humor kept the class interesting. Essays aren't too difficult. He does provides Study Guides.

I LOVE HIM!!! Personally, I did not find the work load too difficult but maybe that is because I am used to heavy writing/art courses. Either way this class is worth it. It was just after math class and it was the absolute best way to unwind after math (hate math!) He's funny, and loves talking to students, in general. You wont regret his class!!!!

Very helpful, gets off topic easily. Be sure to read the textbook and study outside of class. Difficult class with lots of memorization. not to be taken lightly. Doesn't take any nonsense. Extremely nice if you are a good student. SHOW UP! Four absences and you're dead.

Do not take for a hum, it's extremely hard and you have to be 100% dedicated to this class. speak up, show up, and meet with him when you are struggling.He WILL help you. I have a huge amount of respect for him, but DO NOT TAKE unless you absolutely have to. It was VERY challenging, grading is harsh. youve been warned
