Dr. Delaney is a good guy but horrible teacher. Hes very out of date with his teaching skills, he just writes key points he wants to discuss in class on the board an lectures for the whole class. Since he write everything on the board he then forgets where he left off at next class. Lots of reading!!!!! Extremely hard test!!! Do not take!!

Dr. Delaney is a good man, not a good teacher. Very hard grader, tells you to read books for tests but doesnt give you insight to the test question till the day of. He has angry outbursts a lot, at least he did in my class. Watch a lot of videos on the Holocaust but he focused more on Nazi History. I would not recommend him to anyone.

The class started off promising. Dr. Delaney clearly knows his stuff, and seemed like he would be able to really give insight into the Holocaust. However, most of the class was about Nazi history, and we barely spent any time on what the course was supposed to be about. He has a bad temper, and expects you to be a historian in discussions.

Overall, he's a great guy. He's willing to help if you need it. However, he tends to have a temper if you rub him the wrong way. Just make sure you always show up to class (when he does have it, since he tended to cancel frequently). Also, his tests are very difficult, so make sure you study your butt off.

Good. Luck. Assigns mountains of material to memorize out of the textbook (hundreds of pages) to then hold the most boring class you have ever attended while giving you tests based off of 10-20 MP questions worth 5 points each. Whenever hes not doing that, youre tested through writing essays of which he MIGHT tell you the subject of to study.

His classes are nothing but lectures and you have to be ready to take nothing but notes. His reading assignments are incredibly long so it is quite hard to even read and comprehend. He never gives study reviews, and his questions are ambiguous. Real hard to study with only notes and the book. Good luck understanding how he speaks, vocab crazy.

I hated him as a professor and as a person. He is constantly 'distracted' by the dumbest things, and even stopped a lecture to make a guy blow his nose in the middle of flu season because the sniffling was too distracting for him. He requires hours of reading, but the reading only counts for minimal points on the tests.

Dr. Delaney fails to explain test material. Multiple choice test questions are not taught in class they are meant to be taught on your own from 200 pages of textbook material. Gives 25 topics to study for multiple choice and fails to use even half. Essays are impossible, he gives multiple essay options but eliminates most the day of exam

Comment:
Prof. Delaney will not allow use of your cell phone, you cannot be late, and you cannot leave class. His tests are purely essay memorization, and he falsely gives information as to what will be on the test, which results in students very frequently studying the wrong material and failing to no fault of their own.

Dr. Delaney is a well traveled man with a lot of knowledge in German history. He is very personable and enjoys when the class gets involved in discussion. There were a lot of readings but he gets you invested in the subject & encourages students with tips & hints towards success. Pay attention & show up to class to do well.

Unorganized, what he says is on the exam isn't so you end up studying things that aren't on the exam but were on the study guide. Goes too fast during lectures and assumes the class knows how to spell German words. Did not enjoy this class as much as I thought i would.

Awful. I don't like history in the first place but he just made it even more boring. Oh and if you're even a minute late expect to get dirty looks and comments from him throughout the lecture.

Delaney is a really nice guy. He's willing to help you. He is pretty strict about classroom conduct, but I think it made me respect him. Tests are a little on the tough side, but he's still worth taking. I'd take him again.

He is very smart & knows a good amount about his subject. His lectures are old school, dry & tend to be lack luster. I had him twice & his history of the holocaust class was great. I wouldn't recommend taking him for senior sem unless you plan to do your final paper on German from 1900-1945. He made everyone do their senior papers on this subject.

I love professor Delaney. His class is really actually interesting and you learn a ton that they don't teach you in high school. He also really cares about his students. He was really flexible with due dates and he valued our feedback. He is passionate about teaching and history and it shows. I would definitely take this class again

I dislike this dude. He was very boring durin his lectures and went on and on about things that were irrelevant to any of his test. All of the information is in the text you don't need to bring a notebook to class, I'd suggest you bring a pillow instead. For our final essay he told me and a classmate that he skimmed through to save time like wtf

This professor is awesome. You have to read for his class, but all the readings are interesting. It's so refreshing to have a professor that cares so deeply about what they are teaching. Going to class was not difficult, and I actually looked forward to it. If you go to class and participate you will be fine. TAKE THIS CLASS!
