Good professor and fairly easy class. If you review all quizzes on the textbook, you will get a A on exams. I would absolutely recommend this professor.

Very clear. Class was a little bit boring sometimes, but he knows what he's talking about. He made everything very easy to understand and always had the notes available after class if you came in a bit late. He was very friendly. Good luck in retirement, Dr Eldridge!

It's a first year physics course. The concepts are not hard (except maybe near the end with light diffraction etc). You will need to put time into this course. There are freebie marks with the lab, tutorials, Mastering Physics and clicker questions. Let's you drop the midterm if you do better on the final.

GREAT, highly recommended. Notes very clear (but not posted online, so you should really come to class). Speaks SO LOUD, no idea how he does it. Very funny older British man, lectures were enjoyable, he was also my lab supervisor and he was extremely helpful there. Midterm fair (common final was hard) but he scaled a LOT. Fair prof! I never realized how good he was until I took some more courses. His notes were very clear and very helpful. I never had to look at the textbook once! which in my opinion is great! Tests weren't too hard, but they prepared my well for the final. He doesn't use a mic in Hebb theatre, but is loud enough to hear everywhere!

Lectures are concise, notes are interesting, crammed with content but notetaking during class is manageable. Makes the material engaging, midterms were fairly easy and the (common) final was way easier than the midterms. Definitely one of the best profs at UBC, shame he didn't teach 102 this year.

Good at explaining the material. I really wish that he would post his notes online though... Also his notes have way too much info that you will never need to know for tests and are just in the notes for interest's sake. His midterm was more difficult compared to other sections but it was scaled in the end. :)

He has a good sense of humour and is well organized with his noties, however he only gives you the basics in class and supplemental readings are the text are a necessity.

I'm not sure what's up with all the textbook comments. Eldridge gives some of the clearest, best organized notes I've ever seen and he writes them down as he goes so you're not scrambling to get them down. Cool demos, PRS at the beginning forces you to be punctual (this is a good thing!). Overall a very effective prof.

Dr. Eldridge gave clear, organized notes with all the relevant equations, plus helpful examples that were representative of exam questions. I didn't need to look at the textbook once through the course. Found time to watch demo videos every class. Got an A+ in his class, even though I was previously Physics-challenged.

I think he is a really good professor. I passed this course but I didn't do as well as I should have in this course, but I don't blame him at all.I don't know why other people in the previous comments wrote that students really need to strictly study the textbook!? I think if you write down his notes carefully and study them, u can do really well.

Horrible Prof. Extremely unclear in class, you don't know what this guy is talking about. All studying must be done from the text book in order to pass the class. Taking a class with Eldridge is taking a class with your textbook. You won't learn anything listening to him. You have to study the whole course yourself if you want to do well.

After a whole term, one mystery still remains: HOW CAN HE TALK SO LOUD WITHOUT LOSING HIS VOICE?! Maybe he's some retired opera singer or something.

his notes are good to study from, however, the exams were absolutely BRUTAL! I don't know why everyone seems to think that his exams are easy. For me, his exams were so difficult and he was not that accessible.
