Professor Erickson talks to the blackboard instead of the class, can smell alchohol on his breath, seems unprepared. Overall a lousey teacher if you want to learn.

Poorly organized. Tends to talk to the board not the class. Knows more about music than Spanish.

Interesting guy.. He is very friendly, and cares about the subject, but I had a heck of a time following his lectures. Offers 3 exams- take-home and in-class, TONS of extra credit, and a class project. Also, he does take role, every day. Go to class, do the exams, complete the workbook (200 pages or so) and you will get an A.

Enjoyable class, went to Ensenada with professor through trip offered in class, this helped to get an A. Clarity was low on what to expect on tests but to be successful must do homework as expected and figure out what you need to improve on. Professor's father died during Spring '06 semester but did not interfere with class.

Very easy class. Key to success is to do recommended course work, e.g. workbook. Doing the homework and coming prepared to class will make the class a lot easier to learn and correcting yourself off of the homework will allow you to do better in the class. Cultural trips down to Ensenada are a huge help to grade and a llot of fun.

Comment:
Too much emphasis on music. We got caught the last 2 or 3 weeks at the end of the semester and we were loaded with 20 pages of homework. He could have spread the homework out evenly instead we paid the price. Too ofter he was disorganized. Not planned. Not much chance to engage in conversations with learned materials. Poorly organized. A let down.

Comment:
Terribly flaky and inappropriate when it came to female students. Very disorganized. It doesn't matter how talented Linda Ronstadt may be- that class is a joke and it made me angry every time i sat through it.

His class was very easy. He went over the whole workbook in class. His exams were half take home and half scantron. The scantron part was exactly what we did in class. He gives a lot of extra credit. And going to Ensenada was a lot of fun.

Watching Linda Ronstadt videos, listening to him whine about his ex-wife and how crappy and poor his life is and routinely being singled out and embarrassed is NOT my idea of learning spanish.

Juan came to class very prepared and very enthused. He was so thorough and so clear, Spanish became really fun! I got so much more out of his class than I did Gomez.

Prof Ericcson is a great guy. Works hard to help you understand all the verb forms and is enthusiastic about the Spanish Emersion Programs. He Assigns alot of homework which is good, as it helps you to understand vocab. Ensenada rules!!
