John Evans is one of the most passionate instructors I have ever had. He is simply brilliant yet humble. He can relate extremely complex topics without a textbook. He is kind and generous. I was always intimidated by math in High School but he made it a passion for a life time. By the time I got to trig the class was a virtual party. Calc bearable

Mr. Evans was a good teacher for the most part, he taught week however chapters were covered fast and only once or twice. However, his feedback was not helpful at all. It ranged from "if this is wrong, all your work is wrong." To "I see nothing correct." And while yes, there have been errors it was not constructive.

Evans is an interesting character. He can be a little inconsiderate but I don't think he does it on purpose. He whistles, a lot or will be chatting when I'm trying to work on a problem. He gives lots of quizzes, the lectures are hard to follow, but I did well in his class. He will answer questions if asked, and is straight forward abt what he expec

He's a good teacher with a good sense of humor. He is very intelligent, but he doesn't really explain a whole lot if you don't understand the material. If you do ask, he will explain but maybe not too well. I found myself understanding it much better by asking other students around me who actually understood. He gives Take home quizzes, very easy.

Mr. Evans is not a teacher whom I would take another class with. He would skip chapters in the book and explain the problem without solving it unless the whole class asked him to. I did not understand anything he taught so I had to go to other math teachers to explain before a test. He also walks out of class frequently and gives quizzes everyday.

Evans is an experienced and skilled teacher. He gives you multiple ways to pass, quizzes you each week to be sure you are keeping up, and his exams are directly from the material he teaches. He doesn't assign homework, but suggests you do certain problems to know the material. He made me like math!

Although he didn't show all steps when correcting a problem, he was very kind and very helpful when you went to the tutoring offered. I hate math and it is a very difficult subject for me. I didn't understand a lot of his in-class explanations but when I went to tutoring, he explained it in a better way.

John is an awesome teacher, but is you don't do well on tests, he is not the teacher for you. He does not assign any homework, he only grades on tests and of course no notes allowed, so if you aren't big into memorization, find another teacher that fits your style better. The textbook is more only for your use, so use whatever book you like.

I was totally confused by the teacher in this class. I found that he was not very interested in answering questions, or in writing problem sets on the board. He wouldn't show complete steps for solving a problem if he did write it on the board. Too much time spent on calculator graphing. Too much time asking fort the answer instead of showing.

I went into Mr. Evans' class completely terrified of math. Mr. Evans is a great teacher however, and has a way of explaining math so it relates to real world situations and make sense. I highly recommend him to anyone intimidated by math.

Best math prof I have ever had! Very friendly and provides a good challenge to make you confident in your abilities. Explains things very clearly. I am a university student but I wish I had him for a prof at WSU. Thanks to him, math has been a breeze at the university. Take his classes. You will not regret it. You will learn a lot in his classes.
