This class was the worst class I have every taken. I would not recommend him for anyone. His test were impossible, even after reading the chapters over and over again. The test were 100-200 question and you had 1 hour for the 100 question test and 110 minutes for the 200 question test. the final grade was worth 30% of your game. He was not helpful.

Awful. For the first month of class, he didn't even lecture. Then gave us obscenely difficult homework assignments and quizzes which he clearly hadn't even looked at nor knew how to answer when asked about it by the class. Be prepared to teach yourself everything from the book if taking a course of his, and extremely harsh grading.

I have a 3.9 GPA and I am almost failing. I am taking the course online. I have emailed Professor Flaherty with questions and he doesn't respond unless it is some kind of technical question for Web Assign. I would probably be doing much better if I had taken it at the college, but I am not receiving any kind of instruction from my instructor.

The homework is easy because he gives you 5 tries to submit it. The quizzes you only get one shot at, but they're all untimed. The only timed assignments are the 3 multichapter tests and the final exam. However, half the time the homework answers are not in the section listed or even in the book. Don't take this class with him if you can avoid it!

Horrible teacher! Was late grading tests (even though they are ALL online),unclear with discussion board, and slow with communication. The only good thing was that you could use google during your text homework (quizzes on your homework) and 90% OF THE ANSWERS ARE ONLINE IN THE SAME TEST LAYOUT.

Smart person. Bad teacher. Does not answer questions to the understanding level of a 1A student. He asks the class to explain/answer for him. When he does offer an explanation, it is often given w/ sarcasm & character attacks. Rather than be left floundering, many students give up & take a different course in the natural science requirement.

He doesn't clarify when questions are raised, always refers you back to the text book. He is rude, using personal insults when questioned. DOES NOT LIKE TO BE QUESTIONED OR CHALLANGED! He actaully said "I've been teaching for X years, right or wrong it works" I do not recomend taking his class.

Flaherty is the best of the best. I would never had made it as an engineer if hadn't been so tough. I don't know what most of the people on this page are complaining about. It's probably due to the fact that they're just taking him for astronomy. He's retired from physics. I took his class long ago, of course.

I took his astronomy class when he did it in a classroom. It was an easy class if you did your homework and studied the questions for the test. I can see where some people were lost. These are the people that do not attend all of his classes. I don't reccomend this class online.
