Okay this guy is a walk in the park compared to your next chem prof. If you think he's hard don't expect to pass the final boss of yuba college which is the next chem teacher... he genuinely cares and will teach you if you ask for help you may think it's hard now but he's spoon feeding you... do your homework don't be late and do all the extra cred

I heard last semester Professor Langston wasn't as good as he is Spring semester 2018. He lectures very well and gives good examples. Of course time and effort will be needed and I recommend taking tutoring because it helps a lot!! His requirements are pretty straightforward. Just make sure to attend lecture and lab otherwise you will fall behind.

Tests reflect nothing that was taught. I went on to take chem 1a and got a 96% now i'm in chem 1b and have an A as well, both taken at woodland. Basically don't take any chem classes at yuba unless you want your gpa wrecked. Take at woodland. I got a B in 2a and worked harder than 1a and 1b combined.

Great teacher! He comes off intimidating and many student doesn't like to approach him, but what they don't know is that he is there to help them succeed and it is up to them if they want to or not. He is fair with grading. He simply reminds you what's important, however subjects mentioned w/in secs can be on exams, so pay attention. ask. go2 tutor

Professor Langston's class is extremely difficult. His lectures are very dry and boring. His grading is extremely anal; for instance, forget what you've learned in Algebra, he does stupid calculation tracks, and if you don't do them, you get a zero. He has an exam every other week. The hardest class I've ever taken. Advice: Study Nomenclature!

He gives tests every other week. Doesnt use Canvas so u don't know your grade. His labs are difficult, and he gives homework everyday, and you need a quiz scantron to do it. He drops lowest lab, homework, and test (the only assignments in his class). he doesnt round up. Currently I have a 89.6 and I have to take the final & get a 82 to get an A.

It is clear that this professor is proficient in chemistry; however his lectures can be dry. There are frequent tests. Reading based homework is due before lecture starts and will not be accepted if late. Lowest scoring test is dropped. Try to take the section that has lab with him as well. Check the Portal frequently.

If he tells you to memorize something, memorize it! It is definitely needed, he is a very strict but consistent professor. He grades hard, definitely use the quizlet app-- it's a lifesaver.

This class isn't to bad. His tests are almost nothing like what you learn in lab. So you really need to understand the material or you won't pass the exams.

This teacher explains the topics briefly, but it is only predicated on the fact that you have done the homework and read the assigned sections from the textbook. None of his lectures will fully make sense unless you prime your brain first. Overall, he does explain the topics well, but without out of class studying you are doomed to fail.

Overall he is a great passionate teacher. If you have trouble understanding the material he is more then willing to help. This is mind DO NOT expect him to give you the answer or tell you the answer. Before asking for help try to work the problem out then come up and ask for help. COME TO CLASS!!

This teacher is horrible. I've asked him for help and he'd be like, "Did you try?" Of course I tried I wouldn't be sitting there for 20 minutes trying to figure it out. The other times I would ask him for help he'd be like, "I'm busy." Horrible teacher basically writes his tests by copying Harvard professors. It's better to take Chem 2A in woodland

I was very worried about having to take this class. I had never taken chemistry before so I wasn't entirely sure was I was getting myself into. I absolutely love Mr. Langston. He is an awesome professor. The material is tough but he is very clear and you know exactly what expect on the tests. Definitely do the homework, those 10 points add up.

Great teacher. Clear. Organized. Fair but very firm and doesn't budge. Grades and returns papers quickly. No late work. No excuses. Has a sense of humor. Tells everything that will be on the test. Random seating during labs is a little frustrating until you meet and befriend everyone in the class. Easy m-choice hw. Lets you out of labs early often.

I haven't EVER taken chemistry before, but professor Langston makes me want to learn more. He is not easy by any means, but he cares, if you do. I feel very uneducated around him, but regardless of how advanced your education is in life, if you put in the time, so will he. This class is going to depend on what you choose to put int

Hard class. Flashcards are a must if you want to pass this class. Take his "late" class because he explains everything thoroughly.
