This guy is honestly my favorite professor at GCC. His class was hard but physics is hard. He cares about his students. If you dont understand something go to office hours and hell explain everythingeven the dumbest questions. His lab is awesome! ASK QUESTIONS! THANK YOU GERZ!!!!

He was great! Physics definitely isn't my best subject but he does a wonderful job of explaining the material. He does lots of practice probs which are just like his test questions. He also gives out practice tests before the final and some of his test. As long as you go to the SI's and ask for help when you need it youll be fine!

Here's the kind of professor that isn't all that popular as you take the class. It seems like he's way harder than he has to be, it seems like he's rushing through the material- but when all is said and done, his tests are pretty easy (as much as Physics can be) and he's actually and awesome person to talk to- more so in person than in lecture.

His tests are beyond hardered than the test reviews. During lecture all we do is solving problems which is great! But he goes way too fast while completeing the probelm, and does not explain very well.

Great life coach. Gives very good advice on how to stay on top of things and be successful as a student. Finish all his SI's and HW's in a timely manner and review before exams, and you should easily pass with an A. Doesn't really teach from a textbook. Just pay attention to lectures and take notes, should be good.

A professor who really is for his students. My only gripe is that he repeats many of his wisdom in class. It is something you want to listen to but after multiple hearings it gets annoying. Being my first physics class ever I was nervous but he really got me through. Highly recommend

Honestly, test is not that hard if you put some effort. The real problem is number of silly mistake.. Also, he does test reviews before test and most problems come out of reviews.

I wouldn't recommend taking this professor. In lecture all we do is solve problems and you don't learn anything from this class. He also skips problems and he expects us to do them which some of the problems he skips are very hard. Don't take him for lab either because he wants you to stay until 5 P.m. Yet we have other classes to worry about

Lecture notes and labs are all you need to get an A. He's a good enough professor so that if you put in the work, you'll get a good grade. He doesn't always explain things in the clearest way, so I had to spend a lot of time at home figuring out what he meant. Very fair class though.

In hindsight, one of the better educators I've experienced at GCC, no question. There's no such thing as an easy A in a Physics course, unless you're absolutely brilliant, but he's a good motivator; admittedly however I do find his explanations a little confusing at times; supplement class work with some solid online research, and you'll be set.

Tests were hard af! I ended up with lower than a C and have to retake it. Solves problems the whole time and is very organized but the tests are slightly more complicated than those problems and somehow you're just supposed to know how to do them..??

Mr. Gerz rocks. He is really helpful and he is there for you. His lectures are easy to understand, and he will answer your questions no matter how dumb they are. His tests are a little tough but he drops your lowest test grade. Also, he is funny and he obviously cares about his students :)

Honestly, he might come off as stern and difficult to approach, and his teaching method might seem unorthodox, BUT, who the hell wants to listen to a boring lecture? He just gives you a quick intro and gets right into problem solving. You solve problems in class as a big group. Go ahead, ask your dumb questions, he might tease, but you learn!

He does not teach Physics , his lectures are just about solving problems. His tests are difficult. Don't believe him in first sight he changes face right after the date you are allowed to drop without W. I don't recommend him

Mr. Gerz was the lab instructor for Physics 105 when I was taking the class. He had a strong conceptual understanding of the material. Also, he would talk about other things that seemed unrelated but could be useful in other areas of life. Anyway I thought the tests (given by Lecuyer) were pretty easy so students need to stop whining.
