Fanasticly engaging lecturing abilities, and willing to talk to students one on one. I found this class to be one of the very best I've ever taken, and I'm sad to know that Dr. Gittens is retiring, because I would've loved to work with him again.

He tries, but I found that his lectures were very ramble-y. By the second half of the term, about 25% of the students were showing up to lectures as it's not important to attend the lectures to do well in the course; the tutorials are pretty vital. The course was alright.

In terms of work, this is an easy essay/readings based course. The professor knows his stuff but is monotonous and boring. Most lectures are nearly empty because he goes on wild tangents and it's hard to decipher what's important when he's talking. I'd take recommend course, but don't expect the professor to actually teach much.

He is a very nice, friendly, smart man but I find that he goes all over the place with his lecturing. He has so much energy and it sometimes confuses me as to where he is going with somethings. But if you need help, he is there to give it to you 150%.
