You definitely need to get used to him. He seems tough and expects a lot at first and you will hear rudenegative things. But even in just a semester I have improved more than I ever did in such a short period. His analogies help you understand his many helpful techniques and behind his serious expression he actually cares if you put effort in.

John is a brilliant piano professor. He expects a lot from his students and if you put in the time, he is very helpful and insightful. He may be hard to read but does care about his students. For the serious pianist, there is nobody else I would recommend.
