Horrible prof. The worst mechanical engineering prof at Carleton. He is very arrogant and swears a lot in class. Unhelpful if you ask him questions and doesn't care about you if you don't understand. Keeps bragging about his achievements and work even though it is not related to the lecture. Avoid him at all costs.

Super clear speaker and provides very good PowerPoint slides to show you exactly how to complete a DG task. A stickler for rules, but overall, a good man. Just show up to all lectures and stay on top of assignments / deadlines, and an A is very doable.

He does well with the material he has to teach. The class is a jumble of introducing useless parts of engineering that are latter elaborated on in topic specific classes.

Do everything to avoid this prof. will never help you with any course work, the book which he has written is a waste. Hasn't returned a marked assignment even after the exam.

Horrible prof, VERY unprofessional. Spends most of time mumbling about who-knows-what. Tells many stories that are completely irrelevant. Going to class is a waste of time. Doesn't speak clearly Doesn't respond to e-mails, even when they are very important. Makes typos in tests and slides, obviously does not care about keeping his job.

Likes to insult people but gets offended easily. He's a bit of a cry baby and the course sucks, but the labs are easy. Attending the lectures is pointless because he just restates the slides, although sometimes he actually shows examples and gives out exam tips.

Easy stuff, nothing that you can't understand, it's just really hard to pay attention to a subject so boring. He's comes off as eccentric, and he's got a few good stories and he's pretty quick witted if you listen carefully. Just try to stay awake long enough to hear ... the text is useless except for the labs

The course is stupid!!!really. and what makes it even worse is his 80 min irrelavent krappy blabbering which we don't even need. The course has TSE component which normally has a good teacher but has the stupidest exam question. like 'btw how much energy did hurricane katrina possess' as if we had something to do with it.

A very excentric personality. Seems to think highly of himself and down on all other career paths (eg. science, arts, math). Easy course and somewhat basic knowledge...horribly taught though.

Spends about 40% of every class making you hate engineering, he obviously regrets his career path, because a M.Eng designing plumbing brackets deserves to. I usually end up leaving class when I'm tired of him insulting the room's intelligence.

He teaches Snorientation to engineering, and still manages to make the class slightly interesting. He was, clear, smart, funny and approachable. If you had a question from another class he would gladly answer it. A great educator forced to teach a crappy class, but still manages to do it with panache. Practically gave us all the exam answers.
