I did poorly in the class but that was my own fault; Linear Algebra isn't easy and I didn't work hard enough. John is a great teacher: very passionate about math, a nice guy, helpful, and strikes a good balance between mechanics and theory. It's too bad that last semester (Real Analysis) will be his last. Take him while you can!

Group Theory and Vector Calculus were by far the two most challenging math courses I've taken to date. But thanks to John, I achieved an A+ in both. We need more math teachers like you, John!

I never want to take another math class with anyone but John. You'll never find a more passionate, devoted, or ingenious mathematics instructor. He emulates and embodies the perfect instructor. I weep for anyone who doesn't take a class with him.

Teaching method is old school but this course is a bit challenging. Although he's helpful and clear, concepts are a bit hard to understand. He focuses more on theory rather than doing problems. I can count the number of problems we did on my fingers. Doesn't make it look like a Math course.

John is a nice person and want his students to succeed. Lecture wise = old school and his notes are made that is hard to understand. Tests are not extremely difficult but fairly difficult. I tried hard but did way worse than in 1130 with a C+ as a final grade.

His mumbling makes it very hard to understand what he is saying. His midterms are excruciatingly hard with full of surprise questions different from the assignments. AVOID his class unless you are a calculus genius. Half the class dropped out by the end of the course

Integral calculus is not an easy course but John is very good at explaining the concepts in class. However, the tests are nothing like his class notes and VERY VERY HARD. Unless you are willing to challenge yourself and love mathematics, this class can really bring your GPA down. Got a C in this course even though I did all the homework. Painful

Amazing Prof. explains things so well and makes you want to pay attention. He is a little goofy as well and pokes fun at himself so class is enjoyable. Assignments are guaranteed 20%. If you study for tests you will do no worse than 25/30. Can't wait to take him in Math 1130

John is an excellent teacher. His notes could not be any more clear. He's very generous in hints for assignments and midterms are just like the assignment with a tiny bit of twist. He makes it very clear what is expected and doesn't expect much. (other than keeping your cell off)

I don't know where all this good stuff said about him is coming from, I think he's a horrible teacher. Was in math challenge all throughout highschool and got an A in math 12, then failed his midterm. He is very unclear, his stuttering makes it hard to understand him. I don't recommend him at all.

Very helpful outside of class...Inglis has made this horribly formatted workbook that gives everyone a headache. Has the habit of reading from it, which doesn't help. Asks what -1 x -1 is over and over... quizzes are fair, midterms are fair...last day of class, everyone's cell phone should ring - he hates cellphones with a passion

One of the best teachers i have ever had. He explains everything so clearly. I hope I get him next year. I highly recommend him to anyone, his teaching skills are excellent. His jokes may be nerdy but after a while you get use to them and relize how hallarious they are. John is the best math teacher at kwantlen. Thank you so much!
