Jamieson is retiring this year.He said he was told to.It's too bad he wasn't told this last year.It would have spared us nighttime students a sem. of boredom.This class is costing us money and I'm really angry that I will be leaving it without learning anything worth while about Amer. Caffeine should definately be a pre-req to his 3-hour night class. His idea of teaching seems to be basically reading in class what we were assigned the night before, so beware the repetition!

He is bloody brilliant to talk to--I know because I followed him back to his office so I could pick his brains--but he is totally an "old school" professor. His idea of a good class session is his own voice reading last night's homework. It's way too easy to get an "A," too.

Jamieson knows his****. A good professor for upper division or graduate students. However, his old school "profess" style is not in keeping with most undergrad students who need interaction. I liked his course despite the early American religious writings.

I took this guy a few years ago, and I didn't find his class that hard because I had good english teachers in HS. I do remember he was a little off the deep end and mayne should be a philosophy teacher instead of an english professor....

He definitely is not a skilled instructor. He sat at his desk the entire period just reading from various books. A live version of a book on tape. There was no additional insight or class participation. Seemed to be a very easy grader though. If your have a hight tolerance for boredom then take him.

Um, if you want a class where you don't have to show up excpt on midterm and final day, don't have to read, and make up an answer to one of his short essay questions. Jamieson's for you! Don't know how on earth I got an A- in this class. ONce in a while you get someone who'd rather be on vacation!

Professor Jamieson bolts out of class when it's over like the ghost of John Calvin were after him. He doesn't like teaching Intro. English classes, and so, he shouldn't.
