Great guy! His sense of humor was great and made lectures a lot easier to get in to. You can kinda tell what's going to be on the test based on the important concepts in lecture and what he emphasizes. Definitely need to go to class cause he does mention some topics that aren't stated on the slides. Make sure to read textbook(s) as well and it's EZ

Professor Manzo was, hands down, one of the best professors I've had in my five years at the University of Calgary. You need to do all your readings, attend class and take quality notes, and study his test guides in order to do well. If you do those three things you're fine. Pretty much, put in the effort and you'll be rewarded!!!

Good prof overall. Really cares about students if you talk to him. Lectures are clear and interesting. Can be a bit lazy, he hasn't updated his slides in years. Tests can be a bit tricky in terms of depth of material but still manageable. MC tests are weighted heavily. Good study guides. Jokes are mediocre but give a polite chuckle for the effort.

The lectures are interesting and funny. He does go off topic but he will finish all the topics as he knows when he needs to stop and when he can go off topic. The wording on his tests can be difficult to understand and won't allow questions during test time so you cant ask what he means. But he gives clear test outlines which is great.

This was my first class with Dr. Manzo and I can say that the reviews are right, he is truly an amazing professor! He is funny, engaging, and organized, gives a good study guide to prepare for tests, and goes out of his way to help his students (: I would recommend a class with Dr. Manzo to anyone and I'm really going to miss his lectures!!

Manzo was so funny, I see how he can be offensive but I wasnt offended by anything he said personally. His lectures were also fun to attend and he made the material come to life, although he does get off topic a lot. Overall super easy prof since he gives a study guide outlining EXACTLY what will be on the test!

His tests were word for word from the textbooks/lectures. As long as you pay attention, you'll be more than fine. He's actually a really great prof, super funny and he really knows his stuff. You'll have to write three one page papers but they're pretty easy as long as you follow the rubric.

Tests are hella easy if you do the readings and show up to lecture. Some questions on the exam aren't in the textbook at all and are straight from lecture. His jokes can be offensive, but he means well. Theres 3 one page assignments throughout the term, go off the rubric and you'll be fine. Just make sure you do the readings.

Dr. Manzo's humor is the only reason I went to class. If you're offended by swearing and him making fun of you, then don't take his class. Funniest professor I have had so far. Essays were stupid with criteria being very ambiguous but exams were easy A's. His study guide he gives out is basically the exam so do that and you ace the test.

Dr Manzo is the best professor Ive ever met. I have a nursing degree and returned to school to gain more theoretical knowledge in criminology. Throughout my univ years, Ive never met anyone like him. Appreciate his humor since it's rare in univ. Attend classes and pay attention to study guides. I have fulltime school and work but still aced it

Manzo was a decent prof. Tends to go off topic and then goes through content very quickly. Bases all tests mostly on textbook so make sure to do the readings always, or he will base it off of something he said in class, rarely will it come right from the slides. His stories did make lectures fun but I honestly never learned much in lecture.

Dr. Manzo goes off topic so much, pretty sure we would have finished the course 3 weeks in advance if he wouldn't talk about mice so often. His exams are all based from the textbook so you don't even need to show up to class.

Sociology is so not my thing, so I had a bit of an issue with the content but Manzo is really funny and it was easy to come to class. This class had a lot of papers to write (although they were not worth much) and exam questions came from both the textbook and his lectures. (Don't skip, because he does ask about specific things he said in lecture.)

Manzo was hilarious and easy. I barely attended class, just studied lecture notes and read his primary focus pages in the textbook. Finished the class with an A, the hardest part was the tutorial simply because his TA were clueless and hard markers.

Dr. Manzo is a very knowledgable prof, but he can sometimes be a bit disrespectful to his students during his lectures, specifically when questions are asked. Manzo, holds review sessions before exams, where he answers questions but half the time he disregards the questions simply saying its "stupid". Manzo's, tests are easy with the study guide.

My favorite ever prof. His lectures were incredibly entertaining, and there was never a dull moment in his class. He gives you specific study guides for midterms and exams, so you know exactly what to study for. I'm not a soci major, but I honestly can't wait to take his Deviance class in a couple of years. Great prof.

The way he communicates might be tough for some people. He uses words within his sentences that most of the class will not know which makes the lectures kind of difficult to follow. His tests are very short and pretty easy. But you have to study for them as there will be terms you won't know unless you study. Powerpoints are short as well.

Funny Prof. Makes going to class really interesting. If you can't take a joke don't take this class. Some colourful language and jokes were told but I found them to be funny. Midterms are short and multiple choice, be ready to read all required material.

Dr. Manzo is fantastic. His stories alone are worth going to class for, and his tangents can get quite extensive. Ask him about his mouse problem if you want a good laugh.
