I like the professor as a person, but I do not feel that I learned anything about writing. I got 16/20 on eeverything no matter what. You might as well just write it the night before in 2 hours, because you'll get the same grade as you would if you spend 6 hours on it.

He's a great professor! This class was definitely stressful at times, mostly because there's a lot of independent thinking (as there should be in an honors sem) and you can sometimes feel directionless, but nearly every e-mail I've sent him he's responded in 10 minutes or less. He's willing to help when you need it and really wants us to succeed.

Pretty fun guy. You have to work for a good grade on your paper. Could make corrections and improve grade for final exam. Fairly easy class.

Seriously such a great professor, his essays are pretty easy and he's a really fair grader. He gives you lots of chances to rewrite things for a better grade after he's commented on them. Definitely take this class with him if you can!

Dr. Nichols is my favorite! Very passionate about his courses and one of the professors that you?ll like to talk to outside of class. Very entertaining, funny and energetic. He will work with you to make sure that you succeed. He makes the 3+ hour classes fly by and always makes lectures interesting. I plan on taking every class I can with him.

Dr. Nichols is easily one of my favorite teachers at CNU. He is hilarious, helpful and very intelligent. I had him for English 381 and ULLC 223 this semester. I highly suggest taking him for any class you can. He's definitely not an easy teacher but you can really learn something in his classes.

VERY FUN AND INTERESTING PROFESSOR, ONE OF THOSE PEOPLE YOU ENJOY TALKING TO OUTSIDE OF CLASS, AND ONE WITH A LOT OF ENERGY BOTH IN THE CLASSROOM AND OUT. THE ONLY PROBLEM, AND YES THIS IS A PROBLEM, WAS THAT MOST OF THE GRADE CAME AT THE END OF THE YEAR. MAYBE 25% WAS CALCULATED BEFORE THE LAST COUPLE WEEKS OF CLASS. THIS MEANT THE INCENTIVE TO

I have taken many english classes which have pushed me to think critically and have heightened my interest in English. This class was not one of those. Nichols has changed his attendance policy, sitting through this boring class is now mandatory. He is a very picky grader...I would not recommend this class for any non-english majors.

One of the four classes I had him for was 1920s film/literature. It was a 3 hour night class and he made the time fly by. His enthusiasm over the topic made me more enthusiastic and want to come to class. He's always willing to give some of his time and is very knowledgable.

This was teh first class I ever took with him and I fell in love after one day. He's an amazing teacher. A little vague on some assignments but he wants you to be free to explore. I'm glad he doesn't require a certain number of pages for papers because it allows you to focus on answering the question instead of length.

By far the best teacher I've ever had. I've taken a total of four classes with him. Overall highly recommended, great sense of humor and helpful. In this particular class it was his first time teaching it so things were bumpy but he was great nonetheless.

Nichols is really interested in his subject. He's a nice guy and wants to help students who are willing to work hard. He grades pretty hard, but explains how you can improve your writing. His film studies classes are way cool, and I would definitly recommend him.

Very helpful - will proof papers via email and help you edit before you have to turn them in. No work besides the papers and they are all off of the same movie...classes are all discussion about the common movie - no attendance policy.
