Prof Novy places problems on a test that are not done in the homework. They are the same type of problems, however they are different and have not been worked before. If you don't have a previous test (to see the type of questions that will be asked) from semesters before you will not do well on his test. Personally, I think he is a jerk.

OK...this teacher is not as bad as everyone says... he is difficult but just do your work and do you'll do fine... the class gets easier as the term goes on...he does more show and tell than teaching... quizzes are very important so don't slack... take this class right after EE-I it will help

A nice professor, but you must do a lot of teaching the information to yourself. Homework is based on effort, but he doesn't post solutions if you don't understand it. He made the final exam optional. Easy to get a C, difficult to get a B or A.

Nice guy- mean teacher. Will help you in is office but you can tell he likes to see you squirm in the quizzes. He classes are pretty interesting but they don't help you do the homework at all. Be prepared for study groups and 6 hr cram sessions to get a C.

Novy's quizes are ruthless. If your taking EE2, do not ask him an EE 1 question because he will not answer it (which is the wrong thing to do by a teacher) but will help you with things pertaining to EE2

Knows his stuff but doesnt always get it across to the student well. Tests are reasonable if you study plus theres a curve. Quizzes will kill your grade if you're not ready for them or miss class, theres about 10 a semester which count for 25% of your grade.
