This was a very good course, learned a lot about the politics of history and historical knowledge. However assignments were heavy and plenty. Some were not really necessary. But I'll be happy to take another class with her.

Comment:

Very good with a critical approach to history. Made me question everything I had learned before in my history classes. She challenges you to think by presenting alternative view points and challenging readings. I looked forward to her class each time.

Took a graduate level course, Curriculum Design & Development, with this professor in summer (July 2015). Was excellent. I learned and understood the nature, scope, and nuances of the term curriculum. All teachers should take this course. I absolutely enjoyed it.

Tough. Yatta is unfortunately not very clear with her assignments. Her marking is all over the place, all the marks seemed so random. Class discussions were good, but she would often shut other people down and criticize them if the students ideas did not line up with her own. I did not enjoy this class

Just completed Professor Kanu's EDUB 7550 Curriculum course. Was delightful, informative, and eye-opening. Made me understand curriculum from perspectives I never heard about. Purpose of each assignment was clear and relevant. Great course that every teacher should take.

I have just taken her social studies course. Great professor, knowledgeable about social studies and links it well with the provincial curriculum. Readings were very helpful. Found her approachable and listens to students concerns. I really developed interest in social studies. Four stars.

This should have been a distance ed course, as I learned absolutely nothing from her. I learned from reading the texts and talking to my colleagues. She taught us nothing...no note taking...5 classes of the course were filled full with 30 minute presentations...BORING! She is rude, opinionated and an marks very unfairly. She should NOT be teaching!

Do not take a course with her if you don't have to. While her content information and research are impressive, her attitude leaves a lot to be desired. She is rude and abrupt with students. She laughs in your face if you ask questions. Is dismissive of ideas other than her own, yet she say we should be open minded. Horrible overall.
