If you've taken Calc in high school, then this class will be a breeze. He speaks a bit softly and writes small, so sitting in the first few rows will be a HUGE help. Once he gets to know you, he really cares about you and tries to help you. His side comments are so funny (once he gets comfortable with the class he will do this).

I don't understand why people have given him such bad reviews. He gives you review sheets for tests which are THE SAME AS THE TEST, except different numbers obviously. He gives a lot of webassign hw and it's kind of hard to understand him sometimes because of his voice but I would highly recommend taking him because he is very easy! TAKE HIM!

He is a really caring person, but he is very lecture heavy and writes EXTREMELY small. If you're going to take his class then I would probably know some calculus before, so you can teach yourself. The thing that saves you are the review guides he gives because they are just like the tests.

Overall the worst professor i have ever had. His class is extremely boring and he does not know how to teach. The work is a lot and he does not have office hours for help nor provides help in class.

He is actually a really nice guy. His lectures are a little boring and can drag on. But he gives you literally everything you need to do well. He is only a little tough with his project grading. Otherwise he really cares about the students and doesn't mind taking questions.

He is an absolutely terrible professor when it comes to teaching however his grading and tests are fair. There are two reasons students pass his class: a) he gives a "review sheet before the test which has the same questions that are on the testsjust differentnumbers b) They have already taken the course in highschool. Do all the homework and study

This teacher doesn't teach and is difficult to understand. I learn more by reading the textbook during class than by whatever problems he's going over on the board. His homework solutions to his assignments are never right, either. I tried to drop the class immediately after the syllabus day, and couldn't. Highly recommend taking another teacher.

I've seen all the reviews here (so deceiving) and was discouraged to take his class but in all honesty if you ACTUALLY do your work, and ask for help after class he will help. I wish he was available again for my Calc class. He even gives a sheet that provides similar problems to be seen on the test. How much easier can it be?

I didn't think he was that bad. There are two Webassign online homework assignments after every class and the occasional Mathematica assignment, but neither are too bad. The hardest part of the class is showing up- my class was 2 hours long and he just speaks so softly and quietly that it can be difficult to find motivation to show up.

Horrendous professor. Does not respond to emails, does not provide any sort of feedback. Creates ridiculous "Mathematica" assignments, which he grades harshly and which will not help you at all. He speaks softly and slowly, and teaches with absolutely zero clarity. It would be an incredibly bad decision to take this man. He belongs at home.

You don't need to go to the lectures. The practice test are EXACTLY the same as the tests. You do need to be in class to get the practice test though, unless you can get it from a friend. Mathematica is not as hard as everyone makes it sound. I'm re-taking this class, with this professor again just because I know what to expect.

Pre Calc is not made to be extremely hard, though you can barely understand him when he speaks and he is all over the place. He takes forever to finish a sentence. The only reason I would take a class of his again is because he gives you review sheets before the tests and that exactly what the test is.

I have always struggled at math, and many professors have allowed me the opportunity to meet with them after class. Not Petrozzino. An extremely nice guy, but his class sucks. I studied went to tutoring, did everything by the book. And yet, it made no difference. I implore everyone who considers taking his class to reconsider.

epitome of terrible. Please don't take him, I'm great at math and this guy made me hate it so much. He goes super slow, take someone else. He's got a really bad voice that you can't hear. Tests and homework will have maybe two percent of what he actually taught, the rest, you're on your own. Don't take him, pick someone else PLEASE!
