John Reitz is a great lecturer. He was a co-convener of the Crossing Borders Seminar on Moderate Muslim Societies along with Rex Honey in 2008. One of the liveliest lectures ever, the instructor used a series of texts and invited guest lecturers to examine various aspects of Middle East, Nigerian and South Asian History.

Comment:

Nerdiest professor ever. Reminds me of a much less entertaining Ben Stein. NyQuil can only dream of duplicating his narcotic powers. Assigns readings out of order so that you have no idea what is going on, and class is no help. He seems extremely smart and knowledgeable, and yet he's one of the worst teachers I've ever had.
