Even though this semester was his last, I figured I'd write a review. The only grades in the class are the 4 tests and that's it. Do bad on some, you are in trouble. I knew nothing about this type of history and it was a struggle because of that. He crams too much into the class. He is funny though.

If you are history haters, then take him. Very knowledgeable; 47 years of teaching experience! Lectures are very boring, because you just go and take notes. Tests: either you take multiple Choice or essay, you will have to work SO HARD. It's not easy to get A in this class. Grading scale is going to hurt you the MOST! Good Luck! You got it!

Considered one of the best professors at llcc. I liked him a lot but he is really boring. Its the same thing every day. He lectures and you take notes. Highly suggest taking notes on a lap top. Also do the essay test not objective, when it comes time to do outlines for them you can just copy and paste from your notes. Have to work hard to get an A

I found this class very difficult. You take 3 or more pages of notes per day (4 days a week) of straight information and then are expected to remember ALL of that and more for the test. Professor Roberts is very knowledgeable and extremely friendly, but I think his teaching style leaves a lot to be desired.

I took his class, and let's just say I was not going to pass so I dropped from the class... It was one of the worst classes I have taken in my life! You take 4 or more pages of notes a day and none of that stuff is on the test. He gives you a study guide but they are not useful at all.

I took Doc Roberts for HIS101 in the fall and am now taking his 102 class this spring. Simply put, he is hands down one of the best, most knowledgeable, and most inspiring professors at LLCC. Make sure you take notes and study for the tests, and you'll be good to go. Don't hesitate to take his classes.

Took Western Civ. with him during the summer. The lectures were long and I always hand cramps afterwards, but overall, he really makes the lectures interesting. Didn't know what to think at first, but he tends to throw in a few reenactments into his lectures which made it interesting.

I can't imagine anyone not loving this guy. He's hilarious and really engages you in the lectures by relating historic situations to present times and using students as examples. He' willing to help and really wants everyone to succeed. Would recommend Essay tests over multiple choice every time. Would recommend taking

I have always loved history. Dr Roberts is a master of the subject! The best professor I have ever had. He is loud, funny and loves Bodo! (Inside joke) Wonderful man and hilarious but very difficult If you do not keep notes. I recall having to write three very long essays. Caesaropapism! I gave him that sticker in 2006!

This teacher is amazing and will help with anything. He's always in his office by 7ish, and is more than willing to assist. His lectures are hilarious which makes it easy to recall the info later. Just be warned that since he's covering a large amount of history in 1 sem. you'll be taking 4-5 pages of notes. only used the book for extra ref. guide.

Getting an A in this course was extremely hard, but rewarding. Show up, take notes, and take the essay exams instead of the objective exams. Dr. Roberts acts out his lessons and yells randomly. He's always available to answer questions. I would recommend.

To get an A, it is easy. Take all 3 essay tests, take notes, study well. He does have you take a lot of notes, but you learn a lot. If you do not take the essay tests and you do not take notes, Good Luck getting anything higher than a C.

Doc Roberts is great. Lots of lecturing and note taking (& because of this, there's no need for the textbook, just "They wrote on clay") throughout the course, but he breaks it up with relevant jokes/anecdotes. If you come to him for help during office hours, he will not only help you in his class, but also give you advice on your course of study.

Useless teacher. Take about 2-4 pages of notes a day and the test is usually not even over half the crap in them or book. Its over what he doesn't put in his notes.
