I only took this public speaking course because the school requires it of all majors. It was an absolutely horrible experience. Will never ever take a course with him again.

Dr Schedel was an extremely difficult professor. There wasn't too much work, but we gave three main speeches. He never explains exactly what he wants from you and then he grades you extremely tough. There were a few times that I wanted to argue my grade but I knew that doing that would get me nowhere. I would not recommend taking a class with him.

Schedal has been supportive, understanding, and a riot. Hes cooky but has reasons behind it. Dont be so close minded. Hes very truthful, and gives out grades based on how well you conducted yourself. You recieve the grade you deserve.

he makes absoutly no sense! he talks about things that he doesnt even need to teach us! he is not helpful at all. only take this class if you are already good at public speaking. if you dont like public speaking like me it will be horrible bc he does not help you feel comfortable talking in front of ppl. 1/2 the work wasnt even speaking!

I asked so many questions, I tried to laugh at his lame jokes. I prepared for every speech and talked enthusiastically the entire assigned time. He always gave me great comments, yet refused to give me an A because he said there's always room for improvement. the comments below are right...now that medaille students are less like high schoolers and more like real mature college students, maybe Dr. Schedel's ratings can go up...he is a very good teacher and actually a friendly guy...most of the people below probably didn't even have him

Dr. Schedel will not give away good grades, but his class is relatively easy. It takes an open mind (he is a bit weird) and a genuine interest in public speaking to succeed in his class. Ask a lot of questions and don't be intimidated by him; he is a really nice guy who wants to see, and help, his serious students do well.
