Silva is serious about using classtime wisely but is truly devoted to his profession. He is a brilliant, funny man that will make an impact on your life. One of the best if not the best professor I've had at UNC. The tests are tricky but the people that say anything negative are just too lazy to think. Awesome guy, feel very fortunate to have him

He's a great teacher! Very interesting. He loves what he does. Test arent hard but they are difficult. Tricky is the word for it. Just because its multiple choice doesnt mean its easier to pick out the answer. He gives bonus points and does a slight curve at the end. GO TO CLASS OR FAIL! Attendance is not mandatory by him but it very much so is.

Great professor, his lectures are interesting and he keeps the class involved. Reading the textbook is absolutely necessary! His tests are very very difficult.Otherwise a great professor. If you're interested in the subject I suggest this class, if you're interested in the grade avoid it!

great teacher. class is very enjoyable, but tests are very difficult. do all the readings at least once, will ask questions on minor points out of the textbook. dont just write down whats on the powerpoints, write down what he says because that makes the notes understandable, otherwise notes dont make much sense. good class if ur willing to study.
