Comment:
Stone is your stereotypical college professor. He lectures aimlessly for forty minutes, and taking notes is a challenge. Honestly I jus stopped taking notes half way through the semester because he tells you the all the questions that will be on the exams, and I just used my book and google to prepare answers for them. Easy class overall.

This class only had two two day essay tests which he would tell us the essay questions for beforehand. He does not use powerpoints, which make his lectures hard to follow and I found myself just aimlessly typing notes. He also seems to grade the tests based on his mood, which is ridiculous. I would not recommend this class.

I LOVE professor Stone. He's kind, witty, and very interesting. His accent is awesome. As long as you come to class and take good notes you should be fine. 2 written exams and a few essays. He gave me an extension on my final essay and he grades pretty easily.

Great guy, from England. Enjoyed his class on Sociology of Politics. really knowledgeable, spends beginning of class talking about current events, and I find his class captivating. Worth taking, 2 tests, and a term paper and that's it.

Stone shows up 10 minutes late to class and spend 35 minutes asking students to talk about current events. He then either rambles for the rest of class, shows a film or has students talk about case studies. Class has no structure. One written midterm exam and one 12-15 page final paper. Boring, useless class.

I don't like Stone's teaching style of just talking for an hour without any visual aids. Also, he constantly had to look at his notes for the lectures, which made it seem like he didn't know the material well. He was funny though. Easy class, fairly interesting.

Very surprised at Stone's awful reviews. Sure, the class can be boring at times (especially at 9AM), but he is not the bad professor people say he is. Very knowledgeable, likes to throw in sarcastic comments. No PowerPoints though... just lecturing, which can make it hard to pay attention/stay awake. Good class though- highly recommend it.

It was a big class, but the prof kept us interested, and I enjoyed the lectures. He is a very clear speaker, and knows his stuff. I thought the grading was fair, at least for me, I got an A-. He's a very dynamic and good-looking man!! Highly recommend this course!

Well, lets see, he decided it wasn't important to come to class on time and sometimes not at all, made everyone feel like they had an IQ of about 6, his TF's had problems speaking English (mine couldn't pronouce sociology...thats the class i was taking), yeah, its safe to say the class sucked...

The only kind words that would ever be spoken of this monstrousity of a man, would no doubtedly be written by him. The arrogance and disdain for students simply ooze out of this creature. If he forgot that he too was a pupil WHY DID HE CHOOSE TO TEACH if we can't have him banished atleast fire him!

I thought Prof. Stone was very well organized and thorough. His written exams demanded an understanding of the basic concepts in order to give a good answer. I read everything carefully and went to all the discussion sessions.

totally impossible man. he is obviously not interested in teaching this class, and hates americans. he is determined to fail you, and unless you are (as he says) on of those GENIUSES who can get a D+ on his ridiculous exams, do not take this class.

This proffesor's very exsistence is an abomonation he prides himself on not being lenient and yet rather than maintaing a fair balance of curriculum he goes out of his way to fail his pupils it seems like he purposely picked the most unhelpful TA's

DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS. Always late, never comes to class the day before exams. Exams ask broad questions with no right answer. TFs should be in a special needs class. He does not like Americans and does not believe in scaling grades. A horrible man.
