Took this class in the Fall of 2014. Prof. seemed disorganized; off topic. Lectures often times failed to address the stated objectives in the syllabus, and we finished the class not covering many of the outlined items. Questions posed in class often went unanswered or answered with a lack of cogency. Had to teach myself. Would not take again.

His full name is John P. Weir and the "P" in my opinion stands for 'prick'. He is arrogant towards students, completely unhelpful and when he's not busy talking about himself he's often talking about other irrelevant topics.

Not a very good proffessor. He is much too disorganized and talks way too much about himself. He did repeat himself a lot and spoke clearly so at least you could learn some basics, but I would expect more from someone with his credentials. The exams are not as easy as poeple say, a lot of questions dealt with things never discussed in class.

Unequivocally the worst Professor I have had in over seven years of University. People may suggest him because its an easy mark and useless mc exams. You will suffer later in your practice. Don't do it. Esp re China law. He is a pain in that class and you'd think it would be easy being a paper course. Horrible experience overall!

Worst professor ever. No effort put into preparation. Not even a real course outline. All over the map. Multiple choice exams that his secretary marks (with plenty of mistakes on them). Easy to get a good mark though because they're all copes of old exams. Check SIS system for prof ranking - ranked worst law prof consistently at Windsor. F for fail

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS WITH WEIR. He has no CLUE-there was no material to the course and NOTHING was explained. I got an A so its not that I am bitter-its just that I know NOTHING about this area even after taking the class. FYI-he was only at Faskens for a few months. THere was also no organization to the course-JUST TERRIBLE!

Let's just say that after taking Weir's Civ Pro 2 years ago, I didn't know until I started articling that you couldn't speak to your own affidavit in Court. He leaves out a lot of the critical stuff. A bore, but overall pretty harmless if you want an easy class where you won't learn anything.
