Extremely funny, every day is interesting, he respects the opinions of everyone in the class, but he'll roast you in a heart beat, put in the work and you'll get the grade you want.

Williams is honestly one of the nicest and most genuine people I have ever met. He is smart and witty and definitely know what he is talking about. He doesn't give many tests (we only had a midterm and a final) and we had 1 research paper so there isn't a large work load. Books are interesting. Would 100% recommend him to anyone that asks.

Going to class is more like having tea with your grandpa. Every class is started with a funny cat video or funny military pictures. Lectures are long and getting the textbook is highly recommended. You'll have to work for your grade but as long as you pay attention you should be ok.

Best and easiest professor @ Loyola, he will teach you a lot of life lessons but he does not really teach the books he prescribes. All in all , I have taken three courses with him, and I will always think back on it fondly.

Professor Williams is fantastic. He tells a lot of stories in class but that's what makes class so interesting, and he co-authored one of the textbooks we used so he knew a lot about the subject, I knew nothing coming into the class about the military but I learned a lot, he's really helpful and genuinely cares about his students and this school.

Reading are very important to the class. I feel the professor's energy is motivated by the students. If the students don't ask questions then he won't really add anything. Basically, he will help you if you want him to help you. this means writing your papers earlier and giving him drafts, reading and using the authors as references.

Williams is a really cool guy but if you want to actually learn something do not take him. Most of the class is spent telling stories rather than going over material. He does care what students think which is nice, but overall you don't really take anything from the class.

If you're looking to be spoon-fed information; this course is not for you. Dr. Williams forces you to apply the concepts he's teaching to current and past events. His knowledge on the subject matter is vast & he's not some dry lecturer. I enjoyed going to his classes!

Most of the readings in his class I feel are opinionated, especially if you look at the author's of the class texts. His grading scale is easy and yet he is unclear of what he really wants. So you can get an okay to good grade, but getting a great grade is like jumping the broom.

Loved this class. Probably the chillest professor I've ever had. Don't think I read more than 2 pages out of the textbook the whole year. Go to class, listen to lectures, take notes, post often on Sakai, and do well on the term paper and with that you're good to go for at least a B+. Take him and appreciate him! Loyola needs more teachers like him.

If you have a hard time paying attention in class, this is a good teacher because he shares a lot of personal stories so you won't have to be focused 100% of the time. Students are required to do a lot of work out of class, so if you don't want to listen, read in class. STAY ON TOP OF CURRENT EVENTS!

Dr. Williams is an amazing professor. If you are interested in the political science field or simply taking a class to fulfill your core, he is the way to go. You will learn many things from Dr. Williams and have a fun time doing it. He is always available to answer questions as well as give "old guy advice" if need be. Take Dr. Williams.

I can't say enough good things about Prof. Williams. On the contrary to many reviewers, I like that he leaves you to your own devices. This is college, not day care. I'd rather be told interesting stories for an hour than go through mundane power points. Pretty easy grader, not the easiest. Would definitely recommend to a PLSC major.

It's a 300 level PLSC class, don't expect class to be a detailed overview of what you read...if this is what you want...don't take him. He's a great professor, willing to help in any way possible. Put in A level work, get an A grade. B Level work, get a B. You have to work for your grades, but it is well worth it. Will take again and again!

I had him for several courses, and its basically the same schtick. He tells jokes, and stories mostly. He is a nice guy, and probably enjoyable at a party, or an event, but a poor teacher. He touches on the material from the book, touches on related information not in the book. Poorly relays what he is looking for in the coursework.

Interesting professor, reading is a must, as the material is not covered in class, but the midterm and final are based off of theories from the books. That's not to say that classes are pointless, I learned a lot from the discussions in class. A bit unclear about what he wants in assignments, but grades with this in mind.
