Good class altogether, interesting once you start learning the subject. Assignments given each week, 3 to 4 lab sessions, 1 group project. There's only final paper and most of the questions are from previous year papers and assignments. Be through with previous year questions and assignments. Has given C and F grades too!

Comment:

Lots of assignments that hardly has weightage. Single final that makes or breaks your grade(60% weightage). His accent is horrible. Unable to understand anything especially of you are new to this subject or specialisation, think twice to take this subject. Professor gives F's and C's. However if you are familiar to the subject, go ahead!

LOTS of work. WHAT TO EXPECT: write 3 page summary per week, team project, random quizes, easy midterm, easy final (took stats in cegep). WHAT TO DO: Skip class, watch youtube tutorials, and do past finals, textbook exercises.

Comment:

His accent is no longer a problem after two classes. Excellent professor and highly knowledgeable and always approachable. The learning curve was incredible right from day one. Expect one assignment every week, 5-6 lab session and 1 final project. Solve previous papers to score well. Grading is ABSOLUTE but not relative.

Comment:

Zhang was a great teacher for ELEC 362. However, he managed to make ELEC 466 (Intro to optical communications) the worst course that is offered at Concordia. The teacher was unclear and often difficult to understand. I HIGHLY recommend students take another ELEC elective instead (e.g. antennas or network security).

Very dedicated prof. Ultimate nice guy. Very clear in terms of teaching. He solved numerous problems in class. The final exam was at the average level of problems that he solved in class. There still exists good professors out there.

John really does deserve to be called a real prof! He has great positive attitude and his not-so-perfect english can almost make things even clearer. He is willing to listen to any suggestions for improvements and is usually very quick to understand and answer questions. I wish there were more like him. Read b4 class tho' class or you can get lost.

He is indeed a person who deserves to be called professor. He has full command on his course. More over he is always awailable to help you. Despite the fact that he is very busy in office yet he always help you the time you knock his door regardless of office hours. I rank him as a Best Teacher.

His english is bad. He misspronounces key words that are used very often in class (Psi is like P***y, Wave is like wiwi) that's the funny part. The lectures go on and on even if most students are a lost.
