Professor Kathy Gillen is awesome! You have to go to class, she takes attendance every time. She'll know your name early on, and be ready to get randomly called on for answers. She holds you accountable for showing up and knowing what you're supposed to while still rooting for you. Her tests are moderately hard, but she holds useful review sessions

Kathy Gillen is regarded as one of, if not the, most lovable biology instructors. Her lecture style is very accessible and she ensures each student is able to follow while still retaining a good amount of difficulty. She's enthusiastic (VERY) and a morning person (sry if you're not). Available outside class, understanding, and incredible all around

One of the best professors I've had a Kenyon. Extremely enthusiastic, kind and encouraging, and funny in class. Her review sessions are very helpful, and she is a timely, thorough grader. She knows the name of everyone in a large class. She seems to really care about every student.

She's the reason I take biology so early in the morning! So nice and funny as a professor and personally. She seems really excited about what she's teaching. Review sessions are very helpful and in a class of 45 people, she manages to know everyone's name. HIGHLY recommended.

Gillen is enthusiastic about what she teaches, no matter what time her class is. The exams are hard as hell, but as long as you put down a legitimate answer, she will guarantee give you partial credit, which is nice. She's always willing to help you out personally if you're struggling.

she is overall a good professor. she is energetic and willing to help outside of class. watch out for her take home quizzes as they're trickier than her in class ones. also, her exams are difficult but she grades them fairly. if you have the chance to take her class, do it.

Very energetic, which is needed for an 8:10 class. Will go out of her way to get answers to any question you may have. Quiz schedule is weird, often within a week after exams. Exams can be quite difficult, but there's never any homework other than reading
