Comment:

Lectures are long, detailed, and are undeniably dry (but with the material it is to be expected). I found his style to be monotone and difficult to follow as he tended to ramble. Was very kind though, and grading seemed average. Conferences were very easy to prepare for and do well in. A research report, final essay, and conference participation.

Just graduated last year from McGill and couldn't have found my passion without his ideas, commitment to teaching and passion. Great teacher, fair grader and above all an honourable and fantastic person. If you want to learn a lot, be challenged but come away with questions and ideas you will remember - take his classes!

Comment:

People here are rating him quite harshly... but they are right in doing so. He can be VERY boring. The class (Canada immigration) overall is ok in terms of workload but heavily based on (long and boring) readings, which are overanalyzed in class.For these reasons, I wish I had dropped his class, but on the other hand it fit my schedule perfect.
