what he talks about in class has no correlation to what will be on assignments, a lot of his lectures are completely off topic to what is going to be on quizzes and tests. would not recommend him to anyone and will not take any of his classes again

If youre into history or are a major hes an incredible professor. courses are very reading-based and his lectures are usually somewhat different from the readings. Might be tough if youre not used to college level history courses. Challenging but helpful with writing and clear on whats expected. If you are a HIST major I highly recommend taking.

very difficult course, only take him if you really love history and have prior knowledge. each student has to write 2 papers that are very easy if you read the book and take notes from it. tests are a wildcard, you do not know what will be on them and quizzes are on another text book but open note

Hardest class I've ever taken. You have to have two books for the class. The tests are from what he lectures about in class and quizzes are out of the book. Takes me 4 hours just to analyze one chapter and its usually on two and they're open note. You must put in the hours if you want a decent grade. Attendance is mandatory, skip and you will fail.

He tends to get off topic during his lectures so in the end you may fall asleep. He's not afraid to call people out for not paying attention or being on their phones. Otherwise, he's a good professor. He's passionate about what he's teaching and cares about his students. Be prepared to talk about the Cubs.

He lectures every day. You must have 2 textbooks for his class. His tests are things from what he says in class and about poets you have to write out of one book, quizzes are out of the other book. He goes off topic a lot and it's hard to know what he's going to test on. Absolutely dreaded his class.

Dr. Moore is very nice and organized. The quiz/test material is not based on lectures- 98% OF IT IS ALL FROM THE BOOK! He gets very off topic but he does write notes on the board. All of the quizzes were open note (helped A LOT), the two writing assignments are easy & he also added curves on the tests. Read and you will do well.

Hes a really cool and funny guy but always goes off topic in lectures. You don't get any notes for his class you have to self teach everything so get ready to read a lot. If history isn't your best subject I would stay away from him

This class was miserable and incredibly difficult. There were 3 tests the entire semester and small quizzes throughout. They were all incredibly hard and really unrelated to the material we read about in the text. He did not teach in class, all information was self taught.

He's a very nice man but his lectures don't even relate to the readings you're supposed to do. He just talks the entire class and half the time you don't even understand what he's talking about. He'll tell you that what you discuss in class is on the tests/quizzes, but 95% of the time it isn't. If you take his class, GOOD LUCK. Really. You need it.

AWFUL professor. He puts no notes on the bored just writes down random words that you can't even read because his penmanship is so terrible. If you don't read the book or readings he assigns you will not understand anything on the quizzes or test because it's unlikely that anything he talks about in class is will be on the quiz.

I personally really enjoyed his class! He is extremely knowledgable. His lectures are relevant to the class material, but are not on the quizzes or the tests. If you want to pass his class you have to read the book thoroughly. If you want an easy A find another class, but if you want to really learn he is perfect :)

Worst teacher I have ever had. I was lucky to get a C in the class because it was so bad. He is really easy on grading the papers you have to write but unless you teach yourself the material you will not pass the quizzes and definitely not the tests.

I don't know what the issue is. I'm taking Dr. Moore right now for Hist 355 and I think it's pretty easy. All you have to do is do the work that's assigned and pay attention in class and you'll be fine. Yes, he does get off topic a lot but it's usually funny and keeps class interesting instead of just being a dry lecture. I like him.

No no no. Don't bother. He throws things at you that he never talked about in class on tests and quizzes. His "notes" on the white board look like a math equation. Funny guy though! Just needs to be taught how to teach better.

Absolutely horrible. Off topic and rambles in class then puts that random information on tests. Tests are so hard and quizzes you definitely have to read the book to get any type of good grade. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!!!!!

You have to teach yourself. He tells jokes the whole class &class notes don't help you on quiz and test. Enduring Visions is the textbook you quizzes will come from and Taking sides is the book you will read and write essays. Test will consist of material from both books. If you want to maintain a decent grade, I don't recommend Mr. Moore.

HORRIBLE TEACHER! He acts like its a game show rather than a class. He should be a comedian instead of a professor. Everything he teaches has absolutely no relation to what's on the quiz.. You must read the textbook to even pass. I will NEVER take his class again
