Comment:
He's passionate about fighting the top one percent and global warming, to the point where the course isn't really about history anymore, but it's about him trying to convince us there's a problem with the system. The hardest part of class is sitting through his lectures, but if you show up everyday it's an easy A. Recommend if you need an easy class

Dr. Cuello is man with a mission Cuello wants to change people's thinking and improve education and society this is the reason he's a professor This class is colonial Latin American history but history was only discussed briefly in the beginning of the class, he has his own take on the history of humanity that's vague. You have to care in the class

His lectures are very vague but past the vagueness you can see what he wants out of your papers, which there are three 5-10+ pgs each. But he's chill with due dates probably since it takes him forever to grade them. he's ok i guess.

While the clase was easy, and Dr Cuello is fairly lax when it comes to deadlines, it was also incredibly frustrating. The course material is sparsely covered. He goes off on long rants. The paper requirements were all over the place. First impressions mean a lot with him. Did well but would not take again.

Mr. Cuello is not your typical college professor. Come into this class with an open mind. He is a respectable person and will help his students when necessary. Listen to what he is telling you and don't take it for granted. Stick with it.

Do NOT take this professor, he is one of the worst that I have ever had at this university. If I wanted to take a course on how bad the education system is, or the qualifications I will need to get a job, then maybe he's the guy to talk to. We did not talk about history at ALL, and as a history major, this makes me beyond angry. He is arrogant.

I never rate teachers but I want to save you all in advance. He rants & goes off topic a lot. He focus on the oppression of African Americans and White supremacy opposed to history of mexico. He expects the community to teach each other. He needs to TEACH. He gives complicated essays & no guidance Very smart and deep guy but terrible instructor.

If I wanted to take a course on "How the Educational System is Broken" I'd love to take Dr. Cuello. We spent a great deal of time focusing on topics that had ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with the course material.Syllabus was altered about 3 timers.Dont get me wrong he is an exceptional intellectual person, but as a professor; I would not recommend him.

The course is difficult only if you do not go to class,do the assigned readings, and so forth but Dr. Cuello is a wonderful instructor and I honestly learned a lot.He does go off topic, but everything he talks about is important to us students. He only helps those who want to succeed and be a part of the "Learning Community". I recommend him ^_^

Judging by the idiocy of many of these comments, I think the arrogant ignorance of the students may be the true catalyst of their dissatisfaction. Simply put, ProfCuello is a soft-spoken intellectual who actually cares about his students. Class actually meets freely at starbucks, rather than the typical confinement of a traditional classroom.

I took his Spaniard Conquest of the Americas class. I know it's already a loaded topic but this guy is pretty **** and I think the scariest thing about it is he doesn't even realize it. What I got out of this class was: white skin = bad, always wrong and brown skin = good, always right.

The people who complained about his complete lack of organization are spot on. The class is incredibly easy though. There is a total of three papers 8-10 pages each for an undergrad, but 4 if you are taking his graduate course. He gives out a guide for each essay and as long as you answer every question you will get an A.

Nice guy, but super tough class. It is not a class I would recommend taking as it is difficult to learn when he does not lecture and then gives essays that are difficult to understand. If you do take the course, keep up with every single reading and understand the background of certain things or you will fail. Cuello in my books, receives a D+.

Impossible to understand expectations. Most of class lectures regarding parinoid theories and his own ethnocentricism. Class insultingly easy for a graduate student. Absaolutely no organization to the class or time management. Rambles on about educational theories rather than teaching anything. Seems like a nice guy outside the class though.

he's actually an interesting guy but he makes the class much mare difficult than it has to be. its not at all what a typical lecture and it is hard for him to stay on the class subject. i agree with all of the comments made. i just wish that i looked at this site before i took the class. i would advise all to not even bother wiht the class.
