What a great guy. Had him for both lab and lecture. He makes the class interesting with humor and teaches in a way that you'll learn. He lets you look at a bunch of previous tests and finals which makes them extremely easy to study for and you still learn the material. Buy the book right away for online homework thats due. Great professor take him!

dont listen to the people who give him a bad review. this guy is an amazing teacher. he gives u access to every old exam/final with solutions. wat else can u ask for. spent the last 2 weeks of class solely for review. gives u a notecard for exams and 3 for the final. anything can be put on them. no tricks on tests. i finished the final in an hour15

becker is a great professor.he curves so the class average on tests is 75%. gives u all former tests online plus answers and u get a notecard for the tests and 3 for the final. tests are difficult if not studied past exams but with those and notes its easy to pass

This professor literally shows you how to do every single kind of problem that he will throw at you. He gives you access to every past exam he's given so that you can study them. Also, you had to follow his format for solving problems. But you know what? It's just showing all the steps, which is critical if your going to be an engineer.

BEST TEACHER! He explains things in a form you understand, tries to apply concepts to real life to understand better not just to memorize formulas, works examples similar to reviews for midterms and finals are HELPFUL quizzes help some are done in group, hw is also helpful. Available in office hours, very nice great personality. TAKE HIM!!!!!

I liked Phys 51 more than 50. Less ****. Becker is a great and funny teacher. I never once read the textbook. I always did something while he was lecturing, never paying attention. All I did was study his past midterms, and managed to get a C on all the midterms and the class. I applied virtually no effort into this class and passed.

I took Becker for Phys2B Lab and he is super easy when it comes to the lab reports, but he is so dull and wastes a good 30-45 min lecturing beforehand so you get out maybe 15 min early, if that.

His lectures are not bad but not great either. This class is feasible for Engr majors who only need to know how to solve problems but would not recommend this for Phys majors as one can just look up the types of problems on prior exams w/out really knowing the essence of the problem. Intuition is extracted by his procedural way especially on exams.

Lectures are "clear" but not understandable. He's "nice" but NOT approachable. He often doesn't understand student ?'s, and answers incorrectly. Makes TONS of mistakes when writing on the board (screws up your notes). Exams hard (no curve), online/written hw HARD (uses a grader). Refuses to hw ?'s, even after! Non-PHYS majors: DO NOT TAKE.

Prof. Becker is really awesome!! Very nice man.. Really helpful and is really clear with the concepts !! Just go to the class for the quizzes and practise his old tests for the midterms. YOu are sure to get an A. Very easy class and lots of fun!! I would definitely recommend him

This is a hard call. Dr. Becker is really nice and approachable, albeit a little condescending, but lecture was incredibly boring and unclear. Physics 51 is extremely hard, and although he seemed interested, I couldn't figure out what he was talking about half of the time. I ended up with the lowest grade I've ever gotten (but still passed)

Great professor, Great man,He was one of the best teachers I had. I was so scared of physics, but he made it easy and interesting and Understandable. Very nice person (makes jokes from his student life), I am much thankful to Him.
