Prof. Carroll was a great teacher. He makes the subject really interesting and makes 4 hours of night class a breeze. He keeps the class interesting with his great PowerPoint's and jokes. He keeps the class engaged during lecture and values everyone's opinions. I am glad that I took his class this semester. A lot of writing though. But its worth it

Best teacher I have ever had!! He really makes students think outside the box. His classes are always interesting and fun. Fair grader. Very hands on class, he wants you to direct what he teaches. He is not a teacher who reads off a power point the whole class, instead he wants the students to talk and debate. Easy A if you just do the work

I love love loved this class and professor. He made everything interesting and FUN. Tell a good joke at the end of a quiz and get extra points if you make him laugh. I would change my major if I was guarenteed he would be my professor each time. ENG161 is not offered anymore, take him for ENG 100, you will not regret it.

What a breath of fresh air this guy is! Not at all boring or mean in anyway. He knows what he's talking about and cares about the material so much, you'll care about it a lot too. Just do the readings, which are always interesting/hilarious, and you'll do fine.

I loved this class and this professor! He was so much fun and picked really great books for Children's Lit. His tests were easy and his lectures were actually really interesting. A very nice guy who is willing to help you and joke around too.

I never had him in class and he probably doesn't even know who I am anymore, but I will never forget Joe walking from building to building with me trying to get me registered for classes after a three semester lay-off. I don't think I could have gotten all through that alone (anyone who has tried to go the administrative offices can attest to this).
