Only 2 midterms and 1 final, 20+20+60%. Final is way too hard and covers the whole term almost equally. Lectures are boring and he took off the important parts from slides.

Worse prof of UW Economics. Lectures were boring but you have to go since he took out the most important part of the slides on LEARN. Tests harder than other section and he never gave any clear instructions. The course was easy but don't expect anything from the prof himself.

I learned a lot from the course but all those theories were just so difficult to remember. Exams were tough, tough, and tough. Fair grader and not easy to get a high 80s mark so find an alternative.

Prof. DeJuan is awesome though his course is not easy. Lots of theories to learn, and he tries his best to relate theories with realities. He really makes you work hard to get 90 or A.

His lectures are dry, but his powerpoints are great, and the tests are straight forward if you memorize material from the powerpoints.

Quite a difficult course and no spoon-feeding by the prof which I appreciate a lot. We were required to read journal articles - good prep for higher level econ course but again required lots of time. Professor was conscientious and caring.

midterm average was below 50%. spend a lot of class time in presenting academic papers that could be read individually. Skimmed through core material. not very engaging. Bad time management. Expects students to have a lot of prior knowledge.

This prof is horrible. Required $200+ textbook, and relies way too heavily on it. He is unreasonable, extremely boring, never engaging. On the exam, if you write a fraction as your final answer even though all the steps are correct, he gives you 0. He refuses to post practice questions or give back midterm/solutions. Boring lecture, fast pace. BAD.

Relies on textbook for everything (and the textbook is not good). Explanations are vague but if you work really hard you can get a decent grade.

Class was slow and hard to follow. Spoke with head down with little class engagement. Textbook use was completely inconsistent. $200 required book, but most reading was from assigned articles, or an option text book.

I'll be the first to admit that I'm a bad student, but this prof doesn't use the internet, lists 5 texts he doesn't use, lectures incoherently and about unrelated material. I looked around, and not one student was paying attention to him; we just wanted the assignment. The cherry on top is that he's a brutal hard marker. Avoid at all cost!
