Comment:

His quality in learning was like Moretta's. He was very passionate and thorough in his lectures. I don't think it's necessary to buy his textbook, plus it's $100, and the bookstore didn't even buy it back from you. Just buy the reader and the other reading books. The TA's grade fairly.

He is a cool guy very serious about his class. He is real touchy about the slavery times and he explains to use the importance of the movements to abolish slavery. I enjoy him and I think he is a good teacher. He is also comical.

Very good lecturer...makes history interesting and funny. Do not really need to read the textbook if you take good notes in class. tests are easy if you pay attention during lectures and read the "reader" and the novels that he assigns. if you do not like to read, do not take the course.

You have to read 3 novels plus a reader, plus the text. All tests are essay with some multiple choice. If you don't like to read don't take this class. He is a really good lecturer though, he's really loud and funny, and holds your attention. Tells funny little stories to help you.

He is a good lecturer but not worth taking if you have other important classes. you have to study your butt off for his class especially his final which you have to write 4 essays. if you are not a history major take someone else. his class makes you study a lot compare to some other classes.

One of the best teachers I have ever had. Very enthusiastic and pretty funny. The tests can be difficult but just listen and take good notes and you will be fine. The TAs give a lot of review sessions. He makes the subject interesting and tells stories that keep you listening.

very good lecturer, engaging and knowledgable. very unclear about how he puts together his tests. he teaches the state mandated class as if it's a major's only class, and is unresponsive to pleas of clarity on tests. TA's were snobbish and standoffish. sometimes i felt like they wanted us to fail

Dr. G is still to this day the best lecutrer Ive ever had. This guy could talk for days about History, without notes. His test are difficult, but they are a great way to find out if you have put effort into the class. TA's grade most of the stuff, but he will change a grade if it deserves better. I

His tests consist of a 5 page essay, 3 page essay, and about 10 mult. choice, which ALL has to be done in that 75min. period! His lectures can be pretty boring but very informative. You don't have to read the text book because the test is over the lectures mainly.
