Wouldn't recommend. Lecture topics are hard to understand. 1 paper, 1 midterm, 1 final, several quizzes, and a presentation. The paper is easy, and he'll give you feedback ahead of time. The midterm is quite difficult. The final is the easiest exam of the course. Midterm and final are short answer and essay. The quizzes are hard (short answer).

He is a very nice person who thinks deeply about the topic. He's also cool to talk to about his experiences as a priest. Class got very redundant at times, though.

Really nice guy but the course itself is terrible. He tries his best to explain but the material is hard to grasp. There's 1 research paper, 2 exams & a few reading quizzes. Won't say the class is easy but it's doable. Be prepared for lots of reading on topics that are boring & confusing. He's sweet though & tries to help if you don't understand.

Great guy but the course itself is horrible. The required reading is the most of any courses I have ever taken. In the end you will have learned absolutely nothing besides a few stories about miracles. Every morning I hoped class would be more interesting than the last. It never was... And the guy looks exactly like Leslie Nielsen.

Father Godfrey is a decent teacher. He grades the quizzes pretty arbitrarily. However, he is a nice person and approachable. Easier for Moral Philosophy than Philosophy of Religion.

Awesome class. Best elective you will take at this school because it applies to all of your classes. I even use logic statements for my other exams. The class is practically self taught and he's always open to the opinions of others. Hard to get an A but even harder to get below a B. No idea how he grades exactly either. A is possible since I got 1

He is honestly the best professor I have had at Saint Joseph's to date. He is interested in the material more than grades. If you don't understand something he is very eager to help. His approach to teaching shows he cares about turning out educated young men and women. Take him if you get the chance.

He was one of my best professors. It's really hard not to do well in this class because of the way the exams are structured. You can lose 1/4 of the points on the exam and get a B+. It's hard to do extremely well though because of his grading system but it curbs bad grades. Best elective you can take at this school. Learned so much about everything

Father Godfrey was a nice prof who was very helpful. He was specific in his expectations for tests and quizzes, but he tells you what will be on the tests. No surprises. BUT, he was on the boring side.

definitely not an easy class. so much reading is assigned, the first assignment of the course was to read half of a book! quizzes are only 4 questions and he is so specific about what you answer that if you word something incorrectly, even if you're saying the same thing that he explained, he'll take points off. he does care about what he teache

This class is not easy by any means. It is slightly awkward and can be painful to sit in for an hour. That said, Fr. Godfrey really cares about the subject and the students and will go out of his way to teach. Really nice man and if you ask for help and show your interest (and do the reading), then you should not have a hard time.

A few quizzes, a midterm, paper, and final. Really hard class. He is a nice guy and has class reviews for the tests where you can ask him questions and he answers everything. He is really strict about the way you word stuff.

He is a really nice man but a horrendous teacher! He talks in cirlces and makes absolutely no sense whatsoever! He is so confusing and incredibly boring! He will literally sit in silence for 10 minutes until someone answers his question. He is painful to listen to. Do not take!!

Father Godfrey is a credit to his department and SJU. Clear speaker who really knows and is interested in the material he teaches, and is genuinely interested in his students. If I remember correctly, he had one or two quizzes, two exams (including final), and 1 paper. Not overly challenging, but certainly intellectually engaging. (Atheism)

Godfrey is a good guy. does well teaching until last month of the course, then it got VERY confusing. one paper, 2 tests, and 3-4 short, fairly easy quizes(if you study and/or listen in class). will help whenever you need it. final is only from midterm on. I got a C+ w/out too much effort but messed up the paper. His class is doable.
