Solid professor, easy enough class. Most of test material comes from lecture and reading, but both were pretty straightforward and informative. The class is pretty interesting too if you choose to appreciate it. Tests were multiple choice with a short answer section. Good class, not too difficult.

Healey was a good professor. He puts his power points online, and you fill in the blanks for it, and there aren't many blanks. There is a lot of reading though. A LOT. The tests are hard too. If you pay attention in class, you are fine without the reading though. I'd recommend the class for sure though.

I thought that this class would be a breeze and it turned out to be one of my hardest. If you thoroughly read all the chapters assigned, you will get a better grade. He wants very specific answers on the tests and is a hard grader. He loves group projects but he grades pretty hard for those too. The final is in a group.

Dr. Healey is an overall good professor. He is very interested in the subject he teaches. Class is overall pretty easy as long as you read the textbook. You cannot pass the test without doing the reading, but if you do then you should get an A or B.

Healey is a very easy professor. As long as you do the readings and study the power points you will do well on the tests. Essays on the tests are pretty simple, the class can be boring because he likes to ramble, but just do the out of class work and you will do well.

I love him; he's so sweet and nice. Ask him about his trips to Ireland. ALWAYS PRINT AND TAKE POWERPOINTS-it's all he uses. Can forget things and be unclear, but will always talk to you after class. Don't email him, he's horrible about replying. Always willing to help if you ask him in person. Will let you change paper subjects five times (I did!).

Healey is a really nice professor but there was really a lot of unneccessary work for this class. Open book quizzes and cheat sheets for the tests. There were a lot of assignments throughout the semester for the course project but then at the end when it was actually due, there was a lot of confusion for everyone in the class. Otherwise great guy.

Made very boring material interesting and relatively clear. Does change mind a bit and gets confused by questions. Not very helpful, everytime Id write an email asking a few questions, I would get one sentence replies that had little to do with any of my questions. Lots of material but I think thats usual for the class/major.

He's a great guy and he tries to make the class interesting. He offers lots of extra credit opportunities, he's easy to understand, and his tests and quizzes all based on lecture and readings. Just do most of the readings and pay attention in class, and it shouldn't be too hard.

The 316 class was VERY difficult. TONS of material to remember, be sure to READ READ READ. For 392, the class was easy... allowed to have a cheat sheet for every test. Healey is awesome... will explain things further if unclear, is funny, and knows his stuff. Awesome prof.!

he explains things very clearly and occassionally makes unexpectedly funny jokes. the content of the class is not fun but he makes it as interesting as a stats course could be. he gives lots of quizzes and xtra credit.

Healey really knows (and loves) this topic. More importantly, he knows when to admit he doesn't know something. He's the most frank professor I think I've ever had and surely one of the nicest. Don't miss the oppurtunity to take a class with him when he gets back from Ukraine.

super nice guy, tries really hard to make the social stats class understandable for "non-math inclined people". flexible on due dates, emails powerpoints to you. understanding and helpful guy if you go to him for help. good teacher. gives extra credit too.

Very good professor. If you take 392, it IS all math. We have yet to relate it to anything sociological. But it's cool. Just be warned. Minorities is a good class. But he likes to use the "N" word when we are in the slavery unit (not in a bad way, just as examples of what they said back then...). Overall highly recommended.
